    SOUL

“Well you’ll find that almost anything these days can be political. Vampires whose turn around time, as we like to call it, has expired would prefer no one had the option of getting their souls and their lives back.  It’s a sour grapes kind of a thing I think.”

“Uh huh, well you have truly enlightened me Tina.  I didn’t know any of that.”

“Well, are you ready to enlighten me?”  It came out a little sexier than she had meant it to.  Bette smiled and sat back down.  “It would be my pleasure.”

Tina coughed to clear her throat making sure her delivery was a little more professional this time.

“Ok Bette, I know this might be difficult but I want you to concentrate.  Close your eyes and I want you to recall the events leading up to the night you became a vampire.  Remember take your time and give me any and every detail you can.  Would it be ok if I tape recorded this?”

“Uh, yes.  Yes, Tina whatever you need to do is fine.”

Bette closed her eyes and sat back on the couch next to Tina.  She could see the movement of her eyes just under the lids running almost like a machine recalling what had happened.

“We were going home, Jody, Kelly, and I were walking out of the Planet.  We were leaving after their annual Halloween Party. The thought of Jody made Tina’s body cringe. We crossed the street. We were walking because we had all had way too much to drink. Jody’s house was the closest and we were going to crash there for the night.  We were being really loud and obnoxious, singing badly as we staggered. The night was foggy and humid at the same time.  It was strange because there were hardly any streetlights but it was bright out.  You couldn’t see the moon and I remember thinking how odd it was that it was so bright.  We kept bumping into garbage cans as we made our way north on Oakdale.  The fog was so low you could barely see the ground.  Jody grabbed my arm and started rubbing it as we continued walking.  She and I were dating at the time and I could tell that she was thinking about messing around when we got home.” Tina’s stomach churned at the idea of them together.

    1. OMG! My heart was breaking as I read how Bette’s suffered at the hands of Aiden. I use to watch True Blood on HBO **stopped last season cause it was was just so far fetched** but your Bette reminds me of Bill. Thanks for the quick update and keep them coming. You ROCK!!
