"Well if I act surprised, can you tell me what it is?"
"Nope" Bette replied in a sweet yet teasing voice as she dried her hands with a washcloth.
Knowing she would get nowhere with Bette’s stubbornness, Tina chuckled and held her hands up in surrender, "Okay, okay. Is there anythin’ I can do?"
"Umm . . yeah actually. You can help me with somethin’"
Before Tina had a chance to ask, Bette turned around and cupped the blonde’s cheeks, leaning in to kiss her deeply. Tina moaned softly as soon as their lips touched, gripping the edge of the counter and parted her lips for Bette’s eager tongue.
Bette slipped her tongue inside Tina’s mouth just long enough to sample her sweet flavor, licking and flicking her tongue against Tina’s. Knowing how easy it was to get lost in Tina’s lips, Bette ended the kiss before they made a mess of the entire kitchen. Not that there was anything wrong with spending a night making love to Tina but Bette wanted to treat the blonde to a nice dinner before they made a mess of the entire kitchen.
Bette was breathing heavily, watching as Tina’s eyes fluttered open while she struggled to regain her own breathing.
"Hey" Bette whispered with a smile.
"Hey yourself" Tina replied in the same way, bringing her hands up to gently run her fingers through the ends of Bette’s curls.
"Did you put out those fires?" Bette asked as she slowly caressed Tina’s back, not at all surprised with how natural it all felt to greet Tina and ask about her day.
"Yeah, I did" Tina said with a smile, "It was kinda hard at times ’cause my mind kept driftin’ to you but just thinkin’ about comin’ here after motivated me to hurry and get through the day"
"Oh really?" Bette asked with a smile.
"Yeah, really"
Their lips connected once more in a soft but lingering kiss. Bette brought her hand up to gently caress Tina’s cheek.
"Why don’t you go into the livin’ room and get settled while I finish up here?"
"Okay" Tina smiled.
The next few hours went along really smoothly. Bette made a delicious dinner which surprised Tina to say the least, she had no idea the brunette even knew how to cook. She was right too, about the dish that is. Bette’s chili and was the best Tina had ever tasted.

Wonderful chapter. This is what they needed, the conversation to clear the air of their past mistakes and get it out of the way in order to reconect. And that reconnection was…just WOW. Maybe this will fortify them for the next hurdle with the Peabody’s. I know helena will try something to try and get Tina back, I hope Tina gave the ring back to her. Love this story, thanks for posting.
