    Soul Mates – Chapter 6

Tina made her way into the kitchen as nonchalantly as possible, not that she fooled her mother. The blonde sat down at the table, smiling at all the delicious food in front of her.
"Mmm . . wow momma this looks amazin’"
Katherine leaned against the counter, her lips pursed and holding a cup of orange juice in her hand. Tina was too busy inspecting the food to notice at first. She stuck her fork into a sausage link, looking up to her mother with a smile as she brought the fork to her mouth.
"What?" She asked before biting a piece of the sausage.
For several moments, Katherine didn’t say anything and Tina just chewed her food with a confused expression. Katherine wasn’t really sure if she expected Tina to say anything or even what she was going to say herself but eventually she said something.
    "I saw, you know"
Now Tina was really confused, "Saw what?"
Katherine sighed, "You and Bette. I saw the way you two were lookin’ at each other"
Tina slightly shrugged her shoulders with that same confused look, "What are you talkin’ about?"
"Don’t play dumb with me" Katherine said she angrily put down the cup next to Tina’s plate "You know very well what I’m talkin’ about"
Tina glanced down at the cup, surprised at how quickly her mother got so angry. She poked some of her eggs as she brought her eyes back up and looked at the woman who was nearly fuming down at her.
"What do you want me to say?" Tina asked as she stuffed the eggs into her mouth.
"How dare you? I can’t believe you would even do this to Helena" Katherine crossed her arms over her chest as she shook her head.
Tina didn’t blame her mother for being upset, in fact the guilt had begun to creep in again. At the same time, it surprised the blonde to see her mother defend Helena so passionately. Was Bette really that much of a bad person?

    1. Great chapter. I love this story. Hope Tina doesn’t lose her resolve to end her relationship with helena. I hated that Bette called herself a loser, she is not. I can hardly wait to see what happens when helena finds out that Tina is not a Fairbanks. Gonna have to rent the movie so I can see what happened to the cat and a few other things. Never saw the movie in its entirety. Always check to see if you have posted. Thanks for sharing.

    2. I am too surprised by the actions of younger Tina, but then she was always seen differently in the eyes of Bette. With Helena she has the pretence that she all sweet and dandy like butter wouldn’t melt. Helena it seemed to me you put our girl on a pedestal. And you ain’t gonna like what’s you see when you realize, Tina’s heart belongs to Bette always has always will. Can’t wait for more.

    3. i get giddy everytime i see a new post to this story. i like how you change the backstory about the cat, definitely highlighted a diff side of tina that can be mischievous but adorable at the same time. can’t wait to read the next installment. thank you for this lovely update :)

    4. Good thing Bette has the shovel in the back, she can make that side trip to the unknown location. I know that’s what she’s thinking, gripping that steering wheel as tight as she is. Loving this story somethin fierce Liah!!!!! Thank you for the awesome post.

    5. Katherine really needs to let Tina live her own life. Oh well, Helena’s here now and that can only mean trouble of some sort. I hope Tina still has the resolve to break it off with her. Thanks for the post! :)

    6. I’m loving this story. I haven’t seen the movie, but can’t imagine it’s as good. The characters as Southerners are absolutely adorable. Bette’s comment about Tina falling for a loser broke my heart. Can’t wait for the next chapter!
