Tina still found herself peaking out around her veil, trying to get a good view of her new husband.  From what she could see he was amazing to look at.  It was more than his looks it was the way he held himself.  He seemed so self-assured easily conversing with the well wishers who come up to congratulate them on their wedding.  Tina couldn’t get over the feeling that she knew him, somewhere somehow she has met him before.  This feeling was strong in her every time their eyes met.  The warmth and familiarity she found in them put her at ease which allowed her to smile and relax as the feast moved on.

It was at this time that Mary and Rachael sat down besides Bette and Tina.  They were there to do their duty.  Mary unsure if the timing was right looked to Tina.  Tina understood the look and leaned forward.  Tina had not really spoken to Bette yet but despite this she felt comfortable enough in his presence to tease him a bit.  “Bette I think my sisters are here on a mission.  I am quite anxious to see the outcome as they have my well being at stake.” Tina says in a teasing tone.

Bette also leaned forward as he saw that Tina was speaking.  Instantly his nostrils were tickled with the most delicious perfume from Tina.  He was so lost in the fragrance that he almost missed the words that Tina was speaking.  He looked into her eyes and saw the laughter and mirth.  It was then that the only thought in his head is that if he could spend the rest of his life with this woman he would be happy.

Tina looked at Bette in anticipation of his answer.  When he seemed a little flustered she reach out and touched his knee.  This gesture brought a broad smile to his face and allowed him to recover.  “Why yes I can see that they are indeed serious.  By all means let them begin.”

At this Mary jumped into Bette’s lap.  Immediately she began her mission of pinching and teasing Bette for all she was worth.  Bette for all his strength was gentle with Mary as she wiggled and squired in her effort portraying to Bette what was in store for him should he mistreat her sister.  When he felt that Mary had preformed her duties well Bette surrendered to Mary by producing four little packages from his two front pockets.  The moment Mary saw the gifts she halted her squirming and reached for the presents.  But Bette was too fast and held them high and away from Mary.  “I will give you two of these but first you must make me a promise.   Will you come to visit Tina and I?” Bette asked.

Mary was startled by the request.  She stopped moving and dropped her chin to her chest.  Seeing this shyness, Bette gently lifted her chin with his finger and looked at Mary.  “I promise you that I will always love and cherish your sister.  I know that when we leave she will miss you terribly and to that end I would be honored if you would visit us.”

Mary’s only response to this was to slowly nod her head up and down.  When she finished this Bette presented her with two presents.

Rachael who had been sitting beside Mary and helping her by jabbing Bette every now and then piped up “Can I come too?”

“But of course I want you all to feel welcome with Tina and me.” Bette says as he gives Rachael her presents.

Both Rachael and Mary open the presents to find the first was a beautiful polished green and blue stone attached to a fine chain necklace and the second a red scarf with an intricate design in gold threads.  Both of these presents were well received earning Bette an appreciative smile from Tina for both the presents and his kindness.
