Storm Watch 02.20 – Invisible
The noise in the courtroom started with a low buzz and then it seemed to escalate, and become a growl as Rosita cast a quick glance at Shane, who was sitting there stunned at the sight of Rosita in a suit. Rosita was taken back also just by the fact that she was IN a suit. The judge banged his gavel and the silence finally presided over the room. He seemed satisfied after a few lingering moments of this blanketing muteness to say.
“You are a lawyer Miss Navarro? I see a Mr. Rob Raymond here as her council.” Ro paled and she looked at Shane who had been crying, she looked awful thought Rosita. Her hair was plastered back from her face, and her eyes were red rimmed her hands continued to shake as Ro tried to give her a look of comfort. Hang on Shane, it’s almost time to dance.
“No Sir, fourth year law student at CU your Honor. I graduate in January Sir.” Rosita said formally and she blinked and heard the gasp behind her from Tina‘s friends. She turned and looked at Tina meeting her eyes and winking, making Tina smiled broadly and proudly at Rosita. Bette saw the gesture and she looked downcast, until Catiana grabbed her hand and squeezed it gently. Bette was comforted by the presence of Catiana, even though she hardly knew the athletic woman.
“She’s a what?” Alice blurted and Lara covered her mouth, hushing her with her long fingers. The judge gave Alice a steely stare, peering over his glasses and down his nose. Alice slunk down into the bench, hiding from his death ray of a look. Dana was eyeing Rosita; she looked hot in that ‘Bette like’ outfit. Crispy she thought to herself, and Lara saw her staring at Rosita’s ***** and she covered her eyes. Lara rolled her eyes, thinking she was caught between Larry and Curly and she was Moe, she sighed and settled down between the stooges.
“Miss McCutcheon is this your council?” The judge asked, and Shane looked lost and Ro pleaded with her eyes, and she leaned over. Ro grabbed Shane behind her neck, pulling her closer, whispering into her ear with more confidence than she really had. She had to let her do this, or Shane might be lost in the paper work system, and Ro didn’t want that.
