Angelica just nodded thinking she may understand, but needing to hear more to ensure she understood.
“So you dated Aunt Helena to find yourself?” Angelica sounded very confused.
“I dated Aunt Helena because it was important to me to feel desired.”
“Can’t you see how Mama B feels about you?”
“I do now, but back then I needed to know that my life was mine, not Bette’s. I needed to know that I was desired for me, not just to have a baby. And most importantly I had to feel that I controlled my destiny and not Bette.”
“I am really confused now,” Angelica said sadly.
“Think about that and we’ll talk later in the morning.”
“Promise?”
“No,” Tina said as she gathered Angelica in her arms and started to drift back to sleep. “I promise I’ll think about it before I say no though. Now go to sleep.”
Kristen shook Bette lightly to attempt to wake her.
“Baby, wake up for me,” she said louder then before.
Bette stirred and quickly came out of her dream state to look into Kristen’s eyes. Her own eyes were filled with tears, some of them wetting her face. Kristen wiped Bette’s tears away as she waited for her girlfriend to say something about her dreams.
“I’m sorry,” Bette whispered in a low tone.
“Don’t be, we all have bad dreams.”
Bette just shrugged as a response, unsure of what to say to Kristen about her dreams. “All this talk from Angelica, it’s hard to sway her against believing.”
“I think a lot of people believe to be honest. I think that there are a lot of people that are pulling for you to reunite with Tina. I’m also smart enough to know that the dreams you were having were about her and it’s not all this talk from Angelica that makes you have them.”
“They were flashbacks to be honest, not so much dreams.”
“Call them what you want, but it’s your minds way of telling you that you need to talk to her about how you feel. It’s also my belief that you both need to sit down with your daughter and tell her why you aren’t together.”
“I know, the sad part is that the older she gets the less I see of the benefits we once had in keeping Angie in the dark.”
“Stop hiding Bette, you’re a wonderful person. You’re amazing Baby, and that does count for something. You’ve learned from your mistakes and I think it’s time you start living the life you were meant to and put the lessons you’ve learned to good use.”
“Wow the beginning of that sentence sounded for a second like a good bye speech.”
Bette rolled back over so her back was to Kristen’s front as she held onto Kristen’s hand, which was tracing mindless patterns on her stomach. Her goose bumps came to life as Kristen’s fingertips touched her sensitive skin in that area.
“I love you,” Bette said softly as she worked on drifting off to sleep.
“I’ll always love you too Bette,” Kristen pushed the feeling down in her stomach that she was becoming accustomed to. It was guilt, guilt that she was walking out on her at the end of the show.

Well, yet another stellar chapter. What I really enjoyed about this one, is how you had filled in so much where the show had not. I think many of us wondered what was going through Bette’s mind when she cheated, what was the driving force? What was the lack of emotion for the most part when it came to the loss of the baby? You filled alot of gaps in through the thoughts and emotions expressed in this chapter. It is typical for a child to have questions, and the ones being asked are very realistic. This is a wonderful story, and I know that no matter how often or less often that you might be able to post, your readers will be vigilantly watching for that next post.
Wow! Kristen should leave if she has all these doubts and feelings. Never ignore your gut feelings and Kristen’s is screaming and rumbling! Angie is too smart for her own good. She is going to rip Mama B and Mama t a new one. Post soon!
I thought Angie would get angry for not knowing about her brother. What bothers me is he was never even given a name.
What a story, Gumby, what a story! Magnificent! You describe the feelings of a teenager as well as her mothers and all the others spot on! Its a gift! Love this! PPS!
Woo, the memories weren’t quite so sweet in this chapter… but its a great read! Thanks for writing it!
What I like about this story is that it takes us everywhere. WEre happy, sad, depressed, hopeful, etc. I feel bad for Kristen, she obviously loves Bette, but is realistic to know, the only woman that will ever truly hold all of Bette Porter including her heart is Tina, and visa versa. Hopefully Angelica will get her parents to realize this before anyone elses heart gets broken.

if we have had, all these little details, in depths thoughts to what was really going in, I think we all would of been alot better off, the blow would of still hurt, but not been that painful imo. But we have fanfiction to do what Ilene can’t,backstory, grounds for all things which go wrong. Keep up the gd work.
If Bette and Tina are going to tell Angie the whole story then they need to to it together. It would be better if it came from them and not from someone else and since their story is so well known Angie is bound to hear about it at some point. I love everything about this story and whenever you can write and post I know I will be here to read it just like everyone else. Thank You!
Like someone said Angelica is too smart for her own good…I mean Tina basically told her “I lost the baby…I wanted to feel desired” now Angelica is gonna think Tina lost the baby…Bette didn’t find her desirable anymore…so she went in search of Helena who found her attractive…they need to tell her….I tell you what…what’s Angelica’s #…I’ll call her and set this straight…lol…please post soon.

Great chapter Gumby. It is very realistic, and I could actually picture these things in my mind as if I were watching them on a TV set. Great job….. it take s a lot of skill to be able to paint the complete picture….. Thanks for writing a realistic story. looking forward to the next chapter.
OK GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG u know this must be longer glad ur showing how both bette and tina r to blame for the breakup, how their inabity to deal with it separtly has not allow them to move on in relationship with other people..Or the fact that they cant move on together is affecting their relationship with the kid.. please tell me that made sense

G…Very skillful writing. I really like Angelica. She is dogged in her desire to extricate the truth from her Moms plus her need to get them together. PPS.
HA..HA…I say that to my kids all the time: you can do anything within reason, my reason that is…B and T need to talk to Ange together and to get back 2gether and let that nice Kristen go find the love of her life, she is a very kind loving person who deserves true love…maybe Kristen and her partner will end up friends with B and T? Bette is still torn up with all the guilt and pain that she has caused both herself and Tina. Tina is torn between her love for Bette and protecting Angelica from the truth of their demise. Maybe Angie can get her mamas to sit and really talk about their feelings about each other and their life with and a part from one another.
