”No,” says Janet waving her hand at Tasha, ”You know what I’m talking about,” she says with a smile. Janet turns to Alice at this point, ”That’s a lovely ring you have on.” Alice, looking at Janet smiles then turns to Tasha.
“You want to tell her or should I? Better yet I think you should say something.
“It is an engagement ring, “Tasha finally answered, “I asked Alice to marry me and she said yes.”
“Where are you getting married? When are you getting married?”
“I don’t know mommy there’s a lot going on right now.”
“What else on top of all of this?”
“Well I’m under review with the service.” Janet was shocked to hear that. She knew her daughter was a very good soldier.
“For what?”
Tasha looked over at Alice then back at her mother, “For homosexual conduct.”
“Are you serious?”
“Very, a bible thumping soldier saw us at a horse race and dropped dime on me.”
“When were you going to tell me and your father about this?”
“It just happened mom, I’d only been back in California for about a week when this happened.”
“What are you going to do?”
“A friend of mine got me a lawyer and I’m going to fight this. I love being a soldier and I really can’t imagine doing anything else.”
“Alice are you ok with this,” Janet asked knowing what it’s like being a military wife.
“I’m with Tasha all the way and I support her career choices.” Tasha looked over at her and smiled.
“Well I can’t argue with that back to getting married, you really don’t know when or where?”
“There’s always Canada we can go and have an actual ceremony,” Alice stated remembering Shane and Carmen.
“But will it be recognized here?”
“It won’t matter either way we’ll know we’re married and that’s the most important thing.” She looked over at Alice and saw her smiling over her fork. At that moment Christina and Dee came into the house.
“Mom you cooked?”
“Did you think I wasn’t? We still have guests in the house that require a decent meal.”
“Slims not a guest.”
“What about Alice?”
“Slim can cook for her that’s her woman.”
“You can talk all that crap you want to Chris I’m about to eat,” Dee said as she washed her hands and grabbed a plate.

I am a true blue Tibette fan, but I love Tasha so I look forward to reading more of this fic. I did not like the Alice from the show or most of the fiction here being portrayed as a nosy busy body so I look forward to seeing her in a new light. PPS :)
