    The Call – Part One

Tina woke suddenly, her body glistening with perspiration. She was confused and disoriented. The sun was higher in the sky than shed expected and it had heated their bedroom; the covers that Bette had pulled up protectively before shed left had cocooned her body causing it to slowly bake.

    The phone continued to ring.

She rolled over, crawled across the bed to reach the handset which sat on Bettes bedside table.

She reached for the receiver with her left hand, her right fiddling with the buttons of her top trying to give her overheated skin some relief.

Hello she said sleepily, the effects of the late sleep and the hot sun continuing their combined effect on her body.

Bette could tell from the sleepy, confused tone that shed woken her Hey her voice drifted down the line did you sleep well?

Ummhmm Tina said drowsily Is Jem with you?

You didnt see the note? Bette asked.

Not yet Tina put her right hand back on the bed and twisted her upper body searching for the note, finally spotting a written sheet on her bedside table.

Bette heard someone in the corridor outside her office; she tucked her hair behind her ear and lowered her voice Where are you?

Bettes deeper tone surprised Tina; it resonated through her body causing it to thrum in response. In the bedroom Tina said putting a seductive quality into her voice to match what shed heard in Bettes.

Bettes eyebrows rose when she heard the tone of Tinas response Where? she said quietly.

On the bed.. Tina wetted her lips.

Mmmhmm Bette murmured. She wasnt sure when this quick call to say hello had changed into something else but she wasnt going to waste it. She looked around the office and moved over to the door.

Tina heard the door slide shut and the snick of the lock.

Are you lying down? Bette said softly.

    I can..

No..wait.. Bette said quickly Tell me exactly where you are..

On the bed..on all fours..your side.. she said slowly, building a provocative picture for Bette.

Put the phone down so you can hear me..

Tina lowered her ear to the phone as it rested on Bettes pillow, she could smell her lover in the fine cotton of the pillowcase.

    1. “Her skin was incandescent, each tiny hair a filament glowing with reflected sunlight.” WOW. just wow. amazing imagery. I love the dialogue between them when Bette comes home. Thumbs all the way up!

    2. Welcome back Oz. Its been a while..I have been waiting for your story. BTW will we get to read that story of yours Listen To Your Heart?

Great, slow and sensual beginning Oz. I’m glad that Bette understands her past mistakes and went home to be with Tina. Tina also needs to know that she deserves better treatment also and not surpress things which is bothering cos if not same things will happen again. Bette will not know what’s going on and misunderstanding can happen and leads to horrible consequences. I’m overanalysing now.

I like the interaction between Bette and Tina has when Bette returns home. So loving, natural, playful and fun..:)
I like your take here. You describe it patiently and in detail. I can imagine what is going on that scene. It’s so flirty the way Bette says and acts when she said I love you and I want you to Tina. Sweet Oz…;)

Keep it up Oz and welcome back. You are missed me here. Next chapter please. Don’t keep me hanging now…:)

    3. I just really, really like the way you write!
There is so much feeling and every moment is given its proper attention. You linger in all the right places. The languidness is like a sweet dream and the dialogue is always pitch perfect.
Thank you for coming back again!
