“You deserve that and more Tee. It’s my life’s mission to make sure that you always feel and know how much I love and desire you. I’m not making grand gestures. I made the mistake once of distancing myself from you. I didn’t make you a priority. You didn’t feel my love for you and I pushed you away into the arms of someone else. I’m not making that mistake again. You and Angie are my life. I’ll never lose sight of that. I don’t want to risk losing either of you. I can’t lose you again.”

“We’re not going anywhere babe. We love you so much. Do you have any doubts about that? Do you still think that I will run away?”

“I just don’t want to give you any reason Tee. You know I wouldn’t survive it this time if you left me.”

“I’m not running and if you ever feel like I’m moving away from you please pull me back. Please don’t let me make that mistake again and I will do the same for you. Just tell me what I need to do to reassure you OK?”

“OK. I just don’t want to feel like I’m on probation. When you bring up these insecurities it feels like I’m failing you somehow.”

“You’re not failing me. In all the years we’ve been together I’ve never felt more love from you than I do now. I’ve never felt more love for you than I do in this moment. We’re in a good place babe. If one of us weakens then the other is there to provide the strength not take the blame. It’s when we start taking blame or placing blame that we fail. Let’s just keep communicating like we have been. We’ll keep seeing Emma to help us with the rough spots and we’ll handle whatever comes our way. Please forgive me for what I said this morning? I am really sorry.”

Tina puts one hand under Bette’s chin and pulls her into a soft kiss and continues to ask for forgiveness. Bette’s not really mad she’s just hurt to think that Tina would accuse her of belittling. She accepts the apology and she kisses Tina back to let her know all is forgiven. They can move on and enjoy their celebration.
