Bette made room in the master bedroom and bath for Tina’s things. Alice and Leigh unpacked the living/dining room items and since there wasn’t much left they were also in charge of crushing boxes and tying them up for the trash pickup.

The house was in order by 3:00pm and everyone was relaxing in the backyard with a cool drink. Kit had provided lunch from the Planet which they had eaten earlier but some of the ladies were still munching. Now that the move was complete Bette and Tina needed to decide what to do with the condo. Tina had considered holding on the property for investment purposes but Bette’s offer from Peggy Peabody of the $2M beachfront residential/commercial property changed the landscape of their financial future.

“So T.K. what are you planning to do with the condo? Are you going to sell?” Alice asked.

“I’m not sure Al. I had initially planned on holding on to it for investment purposes but Bette and I need to look at our joint finances and make some decisions. We’re seeing a Financial Consultant on Tuesday for advice.”

“You know Tina if you decide to lease it I might be interested. I’m not sure what Jenny wants to do with the house or how long she will be gone. She’s paid her half of the mortgage for the next three months but I can’t afford it on my own if she decides not to come back.” Shane was worried she might be homeless in the next few months.

“Tina I really like the place also. I might be interested if you decide to sell. It’s an easier commute to CU than my friend’s apartment where I’m staying now.” Leigh offered.

“You two should think about becoming roommates. I mean both Jenny’s house and the condo are really too big for one person. Leigh I think after last night you can trust Shane not to make any more moves on you.” Alice laughs as she says this.

“What happened last night?” Bette wanted to know.

Shane actually blushed, which was rare. “You don’t want to know but suffice it to say that she put me in my place.”

“Alice that might not be a bad idea. I sure could use the company since I really don’t know anyone in LA except you guys and the friend I’m staying with. I’m sure I’ll be meeting more people working at the University and hanging out at the Planet and such but Shane I would consider rooming if you’re interested.” Leigh offered.

“Wow you guys really did become fast friends last night didn’t you.” Tina too wondered what had transpired between them. “I’ll let you both know what we decide after we have our meeting with the Financial Consultant. Shane in the meantime you might try sending Jenny an email to ask what she intends to do with the house. You don’t want it to go into foreclosure.”

“Yeah that’s for sure. That could also affect property value in our area if it’s left abandoned and we certainly don’t want that.” Bette stated a fact.

“I know. I already sent her an email. I’m waiting to hear back from her. I think she is out at sea again. Leigh let’s talk later OK?” Shane asked her new best friend.

“Yeah sure.” Leigh responded.

Everyone leaves by 5:00p. Tina takes a shower while Bette helps Angie to shower and although it’s early she dresses her in pajamas. When Tina finishes she goes to the kitchen to start dinner while Bette takes her shower. They had everything unpacked and in order so they could relax for the rest of the evening and as requested by Angie they had their movie night.
