It’s moving day. The Kennard-Porter clan and their friends get an early start. They arrive at the condo by 10:00am. Shane, Alice and Kit had hung out with Leigh at the Planet the night before and talked her into helping with the move. Alice & Shane work in the kitchen packing; food, dishes, glasses, pots, pans, utensils, and bake ware. Tina is leaving the small appliances such as microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, and electric can opener. Bette already has these items and there is no need to duplicate. As much as Bette doesn’t really cook she did have a state of the art kitchen with stainless steel appliances and all the latest technology. She just didn’t have many pots and pans or dishes which Tina will supply.

Tina worked alone in the master bedroom and bath. She packed clothes, shoes, accessories and her personal items. She leaves bed linen and towels as these will not be needed at Bette’s. Bette and Angie are packing up Angie’s room and the guest bathroom. Of course Angie wants to take everything but Bette is being practical. She tells Angie that she can only take things that she really needs and items that are not already duplicated at home.

Tina shows Leigh what to pack in the living/dining room areas; framed photos, artwork, CD’s, DVD’s, photo albums, books, and such. Leigh is also in charge of the miscellaneous items that are being packed for donations. Tina will ask someone from the Center to pick them up and distribute them to needy families.

With everyone working diligently they complete the packing and load Bette’s SUV and Shane’s truck with the first load which was the kitchen and Angie’s room. Bette, Shane and Angie go back to the Kennard-Porter house where Kit is waiting for them. Kit and Shane unpacked the kitchen stuff while Bette and Angie unpacked and fix Angie’s room.

Leigh also had an SUV so they loaded the boxes from Tina’s bedroom/bath and the living/dining room area in her vehicle. Tina had driven her own car so she and Alice rode back together with the last of the small items. They were back at the Kennard-Porter house by 1:00pm.
