She walked over to a side table and turned on a small lamp with low wattage bulb then set the lantern aside. Jodi was dumbfounded into complete silence. Tina turned towards them with a lopsided grin. Both Jodi and Kelly gasped unabashedly at the horror before them. The entire left side of her face was scarred. The left eye barely opened but there was no doubt that the vision standing in front of them was Tina Kennard. Her sudden appearance left them in shock; so mesmerized that neither moved or said anything. Tina spoke to Joyce with a touch of amusement in her tone. She’d dropped the slight Australian accent that she’d incorporated as Tabitha now sounding very much like her old self.

    “They seem to be in shock Joyce. Did you not prepare them for my arrival?” Tina asked of her friend and co-conspirator.

    “I don’t think anything could have prepared them, but no I hadn’t had a chance to tell them anything before you got here. I’m sorry to say that news of your survival was trumped by Jodi’s news of being in love and wanting to remarry. I don’t think she’ll be contesting the divorce and we need not worry about any financial settlement. Apparently she’s learned to live on love alone. Says she doesn’t care if she never sees a cent of the Kennard fortune.”

    “So it’s over between her and Kelly then?” Tina asked as if the couple wasn’t even in the room.

    “Yes Kelly has been tossed aside like yesterday’s news, and not taking it very well I might add.”

    “Well at least she didn’t land in a filthy crocodile infested swamp like I did or maybe Jodi had other plans for her.” Kelly and Jodi both remained standing as if frozen on the spot. They stood silent just staring between Tina and Joyce as they bantered back and forth. She saw disbelief and maybe a hint of fear in Jodi’s eyes. Kelly looked as if she hadn’t yet grasped the fact that Tina was real and not a figment of her imagination.

    Tina then addressed Jodi for the first time. “What’s the matter Jodi nothing to say? I thought you’d be thrilled to see me.” Jodi didn’t answer.

    2. My God! I’m smiling like a damn fool at 1:05 am and my ass needs to be asleep cause I got to get up at 5 am for work. I was asleep but woke up several times to check for the post. FINALLY it was here and I just finished reading it! Tina gave a performance of a LIFE TIME! Tina Kennard wins the OSCAR for best actress! You go girl! You one bad ass BITCH! Babe In Total Control Herself!! Bette just topped it off by putting her arms around her. That was such a romantic moment! I had tears in my eyes at that moment! You are one AMAZING writer!     8. It was worth the wait. This chapter was fantastic! I loved that Tina was no longer a victim but victorious. All people should quit being the victim, but turn the tables on the abuser. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I hope there will be more chapters to this story, but it will be hard to beat this last chapter. No matter what, I do wish you the best in your writings and I hope that you are doing it as a career, you do have talents.
