The L Wing – chapter 210
THE L WING Chapter 210
Narration of First Lady Tina Kennard Porter
I have been in the bath – luxuriating in the oils and surrounded by all the bubbles. It has relaxed me which is not something that I do very well at the moment. But I am worried about what is happening tonight. Bette and I are going to be alone for the first time in several days – Leigh is going to spend a few days with Melvin who has taken a few days off so he can spend time with her. That is really good news – he adores her – its good that they are slowly starting to get to know each other. Lucy is heading back to Washington because she is off on a trip with Phyllis and JJ .
When I get out of the bath I am lying on our bed staring at the ceiling when someone knocks at the door. I sit up and pull my robe further around my body.
“Yeah ?”
The door opens and Lucy sticks her head around the door
“Just thought I would check up on you “
“Come in “
Lucy comes in and sits beside me
“How’s things ?”
“Okay “
“Tina “
“What ?"
"
– I won’t think less of you just because you admit to me that you have problems. Leigh and I can see that things aren’t perfect “
“Things are fine “
“Bette’s worried about you – she went mad when those pictures came out – I have never seen her so cross – well I have but it was at me so that doesn’t count. Want to talk about things ?”
“I just don’t feel that good about myself “
“Why ?”
I gesture to my body “ Oh come on “
“No Tina – I have no idea why you would be so down on yourself – you just became a mom “
“I feel fat and I just don’t know what I can do to make me feel better “
“How about just be glad of what you have – you have a wife who is everything that you must have ever dreamed about being with and you have a daughter who is just so perfect – hell Tina I think that you have so much “

HEAR, HEAR, FUNNYONE! Come on, ally, reconnection time. Bette’s waited long enough. It’s odd how when you first started this story I could never believe BP as the POTUS but the manner in which you’ve woven this story w/all its characters makes it totally believable. That’s a true testament to your abilities as a writer. PPS and more of TLWing.
You’re Alice, I’m Bette x
I am NOT Alice – you are dumped – oh sorry – we did that
hey ally, sorry about your relationship… now how can u leave us like this…nice to see Tina bringing her guard down a bit…
AllyE, soryy about you and Cheryl, remaining friends is important, learn from it. Ms. Right is still out there somewhere. This was another great chapter and I’m glad Melvin had a talk with her and make her realize that how she sees herself is not how everyone else sees her and most especially her wife, who never sees anything but the beautiful, warm and loving that she fell in love with and married, and now the wonderful loving mother of their daughter. We should all be so blessed. Having someone love you like that is truly a blessing.Thank you for this wonderful story. I must go back to the very beginning, I missed the first few chapters.PPS
Great chapter… such a tease for leaving it like this…
Great chapter. Looking forward to more
leave it to melvin and lucy-i guess melvin will ge getting a case of wine
It’s good that you and C can still remain friends after splitting up. That’s a great testament to your friendship and the bond that is there. It’s to be applauded. As for this chapter, what a way to tease us!!! Come on, Bette needs a little and so do we!! LOL
“Shut up and kiss me Porter – I’ll tell you when to stop “Supreme!!
catching up. thanks.
That was great!
Well I guess I´d wanna be Bette too, I mean who wouldn´t. I´m sorry about your relationship but that you part as friends also shows how much you mean to oneanother. I took a break from life the other day and strolled through your many stories. For lack of a better word: Wauw! Such amazing stories, such great dialogue – hope you never stop . .and that you spent the rest of this rainy sunday in front of the computer!
listen to yourself: don’t stop there…tease…
Sorry about C, Ally. Long distance relationships are tough. That you part as friends is a credit to you both. Your Melvin is so much nicer than the one we got on the show. Kinder and wiser if not smarter. And still alive! Now how about a chapter of um, er, ah, reconnecting?
