    The Logistics of Romance

Tina was working diligently on editing a script when there was a knock on the door. She sighed, wanting to finish this so she could get home before dark for once.

    “Come in!”

Her assistant Sam walked into her office carrying a large arrangement of flowers.

“These came for you a few minutes ago. You and Bette had a fight?” she asked jokingly.

Tina laughed and replied, “No. She must just be feeling romantic. Is there a card somewhere?”

“Yeah. Right here.” Sam pulls the card out of the arrangement and hands it to Tina. Tina opens it and smiles, recognizing Bette’s perfect handwriting. Sam leaves, giving Tina her privacy.

“There’s a special exhibit at the Bette Porter gallery tonight and your presence is requested. Be there at 8.”

She smiled, remembering the first time she went to the Better Porter gallery. The look on her face when she first saw Bette was one of admiration, of wonder, of a tame arousal. She still looked at her that way. Deciding she wouldn’t get anything else done today, she straightened up her desk and headed home. On the drive home, she couldn’t help but wonder what Bette was up to. She had to admit that Bette was usually more romantic than she was, but she didn’t mind. They balanced each other’s personalities perfectly. Engrossed in her thoughts, she made it home sooner than she expected.

She walked into the house and immediately an envelope on the table caught her attention. “Tina.” It said simply.

She opened it and read it aloud. “Lying on the bed is your attire for this evening.”

Again, it was plainly stated. Tina still had no clue what was going on, but it warmed her heart when Bette surprised her like this. She loved her so much that even her spirit belonged to Bette. She gave herself completely. Bette’s love enraptured her. It crept into her heart, her flesh, even into her bones.

As she showered and got dressed for the evening, she hummed happily, knowing that whatever Bette was planning would be remarkable and memorable. She put on her stunning red dress and stilettos, finished her makeup, and gave herself one final look in the mirror. “She won’t be able to take her eyes off me.” She said to herself. She walked out of the door and made her way to the gallery. For some reason, she was a little nervous as she made her way into the parking lot. There were only two cars here: Bette’s and James’.

    1. You had me at the limo ride!! I had to stop reading for a minute. Now, the proposal was romantic, but there’s one small detail…Tina’s wife. This gets better and better. PPS

    2. Great! Just great! With a warning like that I can’t possibly read this at work! But this is going to kill me knowing it’s waiting…we’ll see if I can wait for the remaining 8 hours of my shift. Doubtful, very doubtful. LMAOOOO!
