Chapter 25 Startling by Each Step Part 2

    Previously…

2 and a half hours before the attack. The meeting room.

The door opens by the servant, Bette and Sam walk in.

Looks at the crowded people in the huge room, the feeling Bette is having now is not as same as a year ago. Being the new drug lord, the cowardly and the nervous side of Bette is nowhere to be found, the weakness of a moment was gone, composedly and steadfastly replacing the young brunette.

Bette hangs out the phone and puts it on the table far away from the main desk.

Facing the boss and Jodi, she shows no fear. Being the most successful section of the organization, Bette unconsciously reveals a slight coldness attitude to the rest of criminals. Even more, she’s powerful but reasonable, using her detective brain and Tina’s great tactic to run the drug world. She’s calm, clear, and determined makes her the favored leader in the company, many gangsters were craving to work for her. Therefore, Bette’s status in the company no doubts much higher than the other heads.

Compare to Jodi, Bette and Tina are now the two people that all the Cooper staffs were all in awe of.

“Boss.” Bette kisses Sebastian Cooper’s ring, so is Sam.

    “Bev.” Cooper nods.

Bette looks at Tina, her facial appearance retains cold and stone, but her eyes give out a hint of worried.

“Should we continue?” Jodi says annoyingly.

Sam gives Bette a look, Bette shakes her head.

“Evening, ladies and gentlemen,” Jodi says. “I’m sorry for moving up the time for the great company celebration meeting. As you know, there’re lots of things happened during this year.”

Bette can see that Tina is rather pale, and her face is closed and hard. She might not know the details about the previous conversation Tina had, but surely there’s something Tina didn’t anticipate, something really bad.

“I will just make a quick sum up. Since last year, over three heads were being taken down, Carmen de la Pica Morales was taken the blame for their death and were being executed. We thought the nightmares are going to end. However, a piece of terrible news came up last night, our fifth head, Eric Cassie was found in his penthouse, being killed by overdose.”

    1. Hi CJ:

      OMG, what a chapter.

You made us suffer the last post with all those hidden conversations.

So Tina knew everything from the beginning; and Bette, she never doubted of her.

Interesting end for Jodie, she was looking for it; so sad Sam has to go in that way.

Henry was also mean and stupid, he had to end like that whether by the hand of the crime empire or by the hand of the law.

Very calculated, step by step chapter, almost unbelievable, but it makes sense to me.

Now I hope you have that hidden card in your sleeve and show us soon, for a clean end.

Thanks for the wonderful story CJ.

Congratulations again for the legalization of the same-sex marriage!!!

    2. Hi CJ,

As first, Congratulations for the legalization of the same-sex marriage!!! It is amazing!!!

Wow, what a climax, Jodi and Henry got what they deserved. And Bette and Tina knew it all?! Wow again!!!

Sad that Sam had to die, but after all she did to harm and hurt Bette, she did the right thing at the end, giving her life to save Bette, because at the end Bette is the one who truly make Tina happy. Still wondering what has Sam done to Tina in the past that was so horrible?

Looking forward to the next chapter and if you still have a card to show that will ultimately lead to a happy ending for our couple.

    3. Thank you for the chapter!

So, like i assumed, fight between Bette and Tina was only trick for Jodie, well done. Next Sebastian.
And of course i hate cliffhanger like in the end of the chapter)

      Waiting for the next!

    4. Thanks for the update and for sorting out a much better and less distant course for TiBette :-)

Looking forward to the next Chapter in the hope that you write us a nice happy ending for my favourite couple:-) I will then forgive your latest cliffhanger :-)
