    Chapter 27 – lost in the House of Souls

    Bid Daddy: Mmm well be still my heart….

    Bette: Hey Big Daddy

    Bette took off her sunglasses and put her laptop case down. Big Daddy swirled around in his chair with his eyes half opened.

    Big Daddy: Well, if it isnt the Sista from another Mista

    Bette laughed and sat down next to him.

    Bette: Same dad, different moms

    Big Daddy nodded.

    Big Daddy: So whats this I hear about you got some stuff you wanna lay down? Kits chops run in the family?

    Bette: Kits the one with the natural talent…I had to take vocal lessons.

    Bette shook her head at the thought of all the different classes he made her take inorder to groom herself to the person he wanted her to be.

    Big Daddy: Aight lets get this show on the road sweet thang….you didnt bring the wifey?

    Bette: Nah this is gonna be for her, its a surprise.

    Big Daddy: I gotcha…sing her a song thatll make the thong drop.

    Bette laughed and pushed his arm.

    Bette: Something like that.

    Big Daddy: Mmmm Hmmm …I see Kit doesnt have your natural abilities to kick game…come on in the booth and well get you started.

    Shane pulled underneath the freeway over pass and turned off the engine. She leaned back in her seat and looked up at the shadows underneath the overhang. She hadnt been here in years. She left this place behind with the most vital piece of her. She dismounted from the monster truck and stomped out the cigarette she had barely smoked. As she walked towards the overpass she felt the cool breeze from the boulevard blow through the holes in her torn jeans.

    She approached the cement slope that would lead up to her past and climbed the path shed done so many times before. When she got to the top she heard a blood curdling growl. There standing in front of an opening in the wall, stood the largest Rottweiler shed ever seen. He stood before her defending the opening in the support wall. She could see a gash in its side and the dog balanced one three legs, while nursing one of the hind paws. The dog barked and sneered at Shane warning her to back off. At any moment the dog would launch itself at Shane and rip her to shreds.

    2. A very good chapter. Shane knows very well what Dash’life is. But Shane is very tired (physically and emotionally) because she wants do everything for helping the others and to be here for her friends. It will be good Alice takes care of her.. I hope Bette’ mission will be successfull. Finally, I don’t believe she doesn’t see how Tina can feel or I hope it.
      I hope my last comment wasn’t too bad for you because I love too much this story. Maybe I’m too sentimental… Thanks for this quick update and take care of yours.

    6. i find myself searching fan fic only to look for your story…so keep them coming when you get a chance…i only started reading the last few so i’m a little clueless as to the shane/dash story (unless it was a new development). despite that, i find this story intriguing and can’t wait to find out what the bette’s surprise will be…sort of have an idea, but i don’t want to jump to any conclusions. your story is sustaining me while i wait till sunday for the season2 premiere. btw, what were your thoughts? was it worth the wait?
