    The Roommates – 2nd Dimension: Chapter 29

    FROM THE ROOMMATES

Her mom had walked out on them 3 years ago, shortly after Bette came home early from school and walked in on her having ***** with one of Melvins business partners. Her mom had decided that David Schwartz was worth more than Bette and Melvin combined and so shed left to be with him. They had moved back East to Davids native New York and Bette hadnt heard from her since. So, at the end of the day, Melvin was all Bette had and she felt that even his love was conditional; conditioned on her meeting an impossible level of perfection.

Tina wiped at her lovers salty tears and smiled gently before kissing her forehead. Well get through this, okay?

Bette sniffled and nodded in response, tears sliding down the side of her face and pooling in the cool white pillowcase. They rested for a moment before Tina got up and turned out the lights. When she returned to the patched quilt of the double bed, she wrapped Bette in her arms and held her closely, a dark head of curls resting against the blondes chest.

When Bette spoke, her voice was wilted and filled with pain. T.Im so tired of crying for her. I dont want to cry. I dont want to feel. Why does it still hurt so much?

    .

It will be great, Bette. Were going to have a great life together., said Tina.

Yeah. And Ill have my own gallery and youll be running things down on the studio lot. We can really do it, T., said Bette, sleep beginning to weigh down on her tired body.

I know we can, baby. I know we can., said Tina, she kissed her lovers forehead once again and heard Bettes breathing begin to even out.

    Im sleepy., Bette whispered.

Tina smiled and whispered in return, Then go to sleep.

    Okay. I love you, Tina.

I know. I love you, too. Sweet dreams, Bette.

    Sweet dreams., said Bette.

Tina closed her eyes and let her girlfriends gentle breathing rhythm lull her to sleep.

    1. Her mother explains herself and makes it almost acceptable.
Was the word – p*ss? It seems a bit coarse for you!
Is Bette going to tell Janice about Tina? I don’t think she should, how can she trust her?
Thanks for posting another chapter of this touching story.

    2. MTS… great job as usual…glad they talked and bette listened… only one thing bothers me… THE MELVIN will be home soon… and will the shit hit the fan then…. i hope bette tells her mom about her and tina…. thanks again looking for the next ch

    3. I’ve just read about 6 of the last chapters, and it’s just amazing. I am loving this story so much. Please keep it going. I love the progress our girls are making, and the incorporation of Bette’s family. Great work, please keep it coming.

    4. just ot done reading all of your story. have absolutely loved it. i love how it started at school. a starting place for many of us. loved the no sex thingy. i think having bette tell her mom about tina will be good. also when mel finds out about out girls, mom can save the day, as usua. post soon

    5. I’m glad her mother got the chance to explain and that Bette is releasing some of the pain she’s been carrying around all those years. Tina’s has and is doing a good job but I think Bette needs her mom to fully help her heal. (I wouldn’t trust her though)

    6. A Moving update! Reconcilliation is never easy but worth it. You have ways with your words. Looking forward to the next update. And the NO SEX thing was just too hillarious!

    7. I don’t buy Janice’s explanation. I can empathize with her pain, confusion, and lack of esteem. But since she saw Bette from afar, she should’ve attempted to reach/contact her–even with cards. There are no excuses—just forgiveness.

    8. MTS,
      Bravo!
Yet again you have written an astounding piece of prose. The narrative just pulls me in and demands my attention. Your marvellous talent has created and developed the characters into a real, living and breathing world that I care about. Thank you for this joy. I always feel a little bit brighter after having read your work.
      Awaiting the next installment.
      Your loyal fan.
      PS is the word ‘enlightenment’?

    9. I’m another one of your silent readers who waits anxiously for each post. This is quite simply a great story. Your patience in unfolding it at just the right tempo has kept me utterly enchanted with your work. Thanks MTS!

    10. Oh how amazing. The question is now that Bette has her mother’s love will it impact her relationship with Tina? Will Bette tell mom about Tina? Wow the beauty of your story so well told that we all want more. Thanks
