    Bette & Tina…Tears at LAX
    (A B&T Beginning Set on a College Campus)

    Previously~~~~~~~~~

    Tina saw the slight tremble in Bettes lips and reached up and removed the concealing shades. When her light brown orbs met Bettes swollen, red-rimmed eyes, her heart sank. This is what shes hiding. Why is she so upset?, she asked herself.

    Bette tried her best to look away. She wanted so badly to be strong, but she was crumbling right where she stood.

    Tina was drawn to Bette like a magnet. She slid her arms around Bettes waist, knowing her touch was needed. As Bette rested her head against Tinas shoulders and took in the feel and scent of this beautiful woman, the keeper of her heart, the true wind beneath her wings, the woman that was her everything. She felt a damn breaking and she began to slowly sob. Tina held on tightly as they embraced in silence; her loving arms whispering all the comforting words Bette needed to hear.

    They stood like that for half an hour. Every time Tina went to pull away, Bette held on tighter, oblivious to the curious stares of onlookers.

    Bette had endured a lot. Her spirit had been drained and taxed beyond belief in the past few days. Shed been devoid of Tinas comfort and love and now she was being replenished. Bette couldnt have moved if shed wanted to. She was finally safe in the arms of the woman who loved her.

    Tina held on tightly to the beautiful mocha-skinned woman in her arms. She sensed Bettes weakness, pain, and devastation and searched her soul to find a remedy for these symptoms. And symptoms they were. She could see Bettes emotional turmoil, but she had no idea of what had caused the woman she loved to practically collapse in her arms. When she felt Bettes tremors begin to subside, Tina tried again to separate from Bette. This time she was successful.

    Tina slowly pulled away, her arms still around Bettes slim waist. She was surprised to see that there were no longer tears coating her loves caramel-colored cheeks. Hey there., she said.

    Bette, her eyes red and swollen from crying, were downcast and sullen. Her entire posture bore the mark of defeat. Hey, she said quietly.
