    Hours later, Bette was seated on her freshly made bed, turning Sidneys card over and over in her hand. She took a deep breath before opening the envelope and pulling out the card. There was a picture of a sad looking little girl on the front, holding a wilted yellow flower. The words, Im sorry, written over her head. Bette opened the card, her eyes immediately drawn to Sidneys flowing script.

    Bette,

    Baby, I loathe to say that Im sorry. How could sorry ever be enough to make up for what Ive done? I dont know what I can say to express how much I truly regret what I did. We have had some wonderful times together and I am always so happy with you. I cant even begin to explain how I strayed from your arms. And I know that you probably hate me, but please know that I never meant to hurt you. Everyone sees your tough exterior, but I know how vulnerable you can be. I know that your greatest fear is humiliation and I hope that you dont view my indiscretions as your humiliation. I am the one that is humiliated. I am the one that could have lost the most important thing in my life. Please know that I really do love you and care for you. The roses I picked are a mix of red and whiterepresenting my love for you and the friendship we had. Maybe you will be reminded of what we had. If I am lucky, maybe we can have it again.

    I know that you are angry and hurt, but if you can, please call me. Id like to know that you are okay. Thats all Im asking for.

    Bette swallowed the lump in her throat and watched the words become blurry behind the tears standing in her eyes. Things would be so much easier if Sidney had been unfaithful and then just been a ***** to top it all off. But Sidney was being loving and caring. She was fighting for Bette and refusing to throw in the towel. Bette sighed to herself, placing the card on her bed and moving to her desk to finally read the email that had haunted her all day long.

    7. i wish sidney would take a one-way trip to ByeByeLand. It’s a land very far away from Tina-and-Bette=Perfect Land. I like that idea. yes indeed. oh and the scene where Tina sits on Bette’s face about 2 chapters back was so hot my PC’s a little charred. It survived though. I don’t know if I fared so well, because that was HOT!!! I second Gia’s previous suggestion..sounds like a wonderful idea.

    12. Wow, harsh comments this time. I think you hit it right on. Everything in college is so DRAMATIC and MEANINGFUL, all at a time when these young adults are trying to figure themselves out. Of course Bette needs to talk to Sidney. Maybe this will be their first lesson in failed love, but a successful friendship. They’re probably going to be art history majors and have zillions of classes together, so they should find a way to make peace. BTW, Sidney’s communications were so heartfelt. Great job!! As usual, just have to tell you I’m loving this story. Thank you.

    14. I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll but when I had my first lesbian big college love we just skipped class and stayed in bed. Going to class is how you get in trouble!! Love the story especially when I get 3 posts in 1 day. Write on my talented friend.

    21. Well Bette talking to Sidney can be a good or bad thing. Tina could find out what Bette is up to or they can get into another fight. But I understand where Bette is coming from she doesn’t to have a grudge with anyone and I understand that completely.
