    Bette learns Italian and Tina starts to scream. (A B&T beginning set on a college campus.)

    There were tears standing in Bettes eyes. She couldnt believe what she was hearing. Tina.T.I feel like I am in a dream. Are we dreaming right now?

    No Bette, were wide awake.

    You really feel that way about me?

    Yes, I do. I know youre with Sidney now. I respect what you have. But you just asked the question. Im just giving the answer.

    Bette was speechless. She lay back down in the bed and motioned for Tina to lie down next to her. Tina resettled her back against Bettes chest and relaxed into her embrace.

    T, thank you for telling me that. I know it couldnt have been easy to get all of that off your chest. I had a feeling there was something going on with you, but I didnt know it ran so deep. Bette pulled Tina even tighter and said, Tina, I have been interested in you since the day I moved in, too. I just assumed you were off limits because of Eric. I didnt want to pressure you into anything so, I just tried to ignore my feelings for you. Youve been there for me every step of the way. You helped me so much with Sidney. When I was completely flipping out, you calmed me down in record time and I decided to settle for just having you as a good friend. But Tina, I know I care for you deeply and I do love you. Im in love with you.

    Tina turned around in Bettes arms and faced her. She could see Bettes eyes under the faint glow of the campus security lights, shining in through the windows. Tina leaned in and kissed Bette softly. Bette closed her eyes and reveled in the feeling of that kiss. The chemistry between them was undeniable Bette instinctively grabbed Tinas waist and pulled her closer. Bette kissed Tina softly, pulling away before the onslaught of her hormones led her to go any further. Bette looked into Tinas eyes and caressed the side of her face with her hand.

    T, where does this leave us? What does this mean?

    Tina thought about this for a moment and chose her words carefully before responding.

    Bette, she began.

    14. I kept thinking as I was reading the girls admission of love that at the end of the chapter it was going to be all a dream. So glad it wasn’t. Loved that Bette was bold with asking Tina how she felt. But I am so dense because if someone called me baby and told me to embrace my sexuality I wouldn’t have thought anything of it. However, Tina’s dream, I would have definately picked up on that. I guess your Bette just has good gaydar. Beautiful writing by the way.

    22. Oh Yea….you are on a roll…Instead of 7 years in a relationship…why not 20? I have a couple of friends that have been together since high school and they are now in their early fifties. How often does one find the love of their life so young and stay together for the rest of their lives? You can tell by the way they look at each other, the spart that brought them together is still there. Awesome
