The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 37

Bette’s face was fixed in anger. “Then we have to stop somewhere.”

“If we stop, we’ll lose Tina. We need to follow her.”

“Fine. As soon as we see where she lives, we’ll go grab some alcohol. Are you holding?” asked Bette, running her hands through her hair.

Carmen sighed. “No, I’m not. I didn’t bring anything. Last time I was here, you told me you were in recovery. I would never have anything around you. At least not right now.”

“You don’t have a bullet? No x? Nothing?” asked Bette, she felt desperate, needy.

“I have nothing. I’m not holding. I have no bullet on me.”

“Are you lying to me?” Why would you lie? Just give me something. Anything. Please.”

Carmen shook her head. “I’m not lying to you, Bette.”

Bette moved to grab Carmen’s purse. “I don’t believe you.”

    “Stop it!” Carmen yelled.

Bette seemed to realize what she was doing and sat back against the seat, sobbing at the oppressive sadness she now felt. Embarrassed at her actions.

“I hate feeling like this,” she sobbed.

Carmen moved beside her, pulling Bette into her arms. “It’s okay, Bette. I made you a promise. No matter what you say, I won’t give you anything.”

    “You really promise?”

“I do. I’ve even stopped myself. I needed to take a break. I like being around you Bette. When I’m with you, I don’t need that shit. I just enjoy your company.”

Bette looked into Carmen’s beautiful dark brown eyes. She searched deeply, as though hunting for something she’d missed. She ran her thumb across Carmen’s supple, bottom lip. “You’re beautiful, Carmen. Why are you so nice to me?”

Carmen pulled Bette’s hand away from her mouth. “Because you’re nice to me.”

Bette’s sexy dark pools were blazing with fury and lust. “Are you attracted to me?” she asked.

    Carmen looked away. “Bette, don’t – – -,”

Bette gently reached for Carmen’s chin, turning the artist to face her. The dark brown pools focused in on Carmen’s tempting soft lips and she said, “Carmen, I’m going to kiss you.”

The artist felt flush and instantly her body responded. She could feel the new swelling and throbbing between her legs. Bette’s lips met hers and Carmen moaned. She kissed Bette back, slipping her hands around the abdomen of Bette’s dark red dress. Bette started to move them back so that Carmen would lie beneath her.

    1. So the cat is out of the bag. Wow. Will Bette confront Tina? I really hope so. Confronting but not shutting down please. Bette needs to hear everything, Tina needs to tell everything. They have to have an honest conversation about their relationship and the roadblocks in their way.
But I’m worried that they stopped in front of Tina’s house and Henry or worse Dad Emperor Kennard might be near. This conversation needs to happen somewhere safe.

Carmen proves to be a good friend. She saved Bette from falling back deep into drugs and alcohol. This was clearly Mrs. Bette Hyde rearing its ugly head.

Great that you introduced Peggy to your story. Gotta love her. Interesting that a sophisticated, gay-friendly hasbian as Peggy would have some business with Mr. K..

Thanks for these gut-wrenching ten pages. Stopping now feels like my ebook shutting down due to low battery when the protagonists are about to kiss for the first time ;-)
Well, I’m off now, maybe if I’m lucky you’ll have another treat i. e. chapter for us when I wake up in the morning. Okay, I’m greedy, sorry.

      G’night

    2. In long term i’m think Tina obviously needs to divorce with Henry – she’s not happy with him. But about Bette – i don’t think that this Tina needs this Bette in long term. After first lust and impression will go, what they have common? Tina – 35 years old powerful movie mogul, and Bette – well she still 19 old student.

This Bette to immature, too weak too be with Cris Anderson, or with Cris Kennard. This Bette can’t do anything alone, she always needs someone support – Dana, Tina, Alice and now Carmen. And i really don’t think that this Bette now needs girlfriend, she more needs nanny now. Nanny and therapy not only from rape, but also from alcohol and drugs.

    3. Well in honesty I can’t say I enjoyed the post can I? :-(
However, thanks for the post and please post again soon.

I think it’s time for a stronger Bette, can I hope?
Also Tina needs to come clean and explain to Bette any plan she has, any chance?
Definitely need a Tibette force going forward please.

      Love your writing, as ever:-)
