The Roommates – Fast Forward to 2019: Chapter 5

“Thanks Alice. I hope you have a great time on your date. Just be you. She’ll love you.”
Alice shook her head in wonder at this Bette. She was really sweet and kind. “Okay. I promise to be me.”
“Good. Talk to you soon, okay?”
Their call ended and Bette looked at the time on her laptop. She had planned to call Tina exactly at 10:02 and she had a few hours to kill before it was time. The popcorn helped tide her open until the pizza came. She greedily devoured half of it while she reviewed emails from work, getting a handle on what her day would be like on Monday. The memory loads were great. She didn’t feel so lost and confused anymore. She had solid memories of all of her time with the gallery. Of the details needed to pull off a successful opening of the upcoming show in 19 days. It didn’t scare her anymore. The task was daunting, but she felt confident and sure of her abilities.
The only thing that gave her discomfort was figuring out when to visit with Sidney and look at the work to showcase. There were other artists in the show, but Sidney was the star. They had a very symbiotic relationship. Bette’s eye was sharp and critical and it elevated Sidney’s work. They’d opened the gallery together and the original show had only showcased Sidney’s work. Alice and Dana had helped with publicity. The outcome had been fantastic, and it had launched the couple into a nether space. They had been on a continuous pattern of outdoing themselves. The casual coke and ecstasy had become more of a regular habit. Drinking alcohol became a nightly routine, a way of winding down. Pills had been helpful too and all of it had helped to drive them apart. But that had only been part of the problem.
Bette had set a timer for 10:00 and when it sounded, she smiled broadly and grabbed her phone. She turned on some of the outdoor lights and grabbed a blanket. She settled herself onto a comfortable lounge chair with a thick cushion and wrapped the blanket around her.
At 10:02, she dialed Tina’s number and felt her heart race.

Now, I’m hooked into this story….Bette has yet to realize that getting Tina back is going to take more than a few phone calls. They are both into rather complex lives which will need to be unraveled before they can be together as they were in the previous lives I wonder what Alice thinks of this new Bette?.
Thank you for the new update!
So, Bette has some her memories from this reality back, it’s good. But what strange that she still didn’t ask herself why Tina has different second name.
Ok, waiting for the next!
Hi MTS:
Wonderful chapter, more information for Bette’s brain, and I see that Tina is very eager to talk and interact with Bette, Maybe she is also the woman of her dreams.
So sad that Dana would, eventually, be gone.
Bette is definitely changing and adapting to her new life, and now with Tina at her side, she may find out why they change into a parallel reality.
Thank you for the chapter, and pps.
P
Very interesting story!
Waiting when Bette will find out about Tina’s marriage and how she’ll react on this.
Very nice update thank you.. interesting.. and I love Dana.
Very interesting way to prove that Bette was not dreaming…LOL. Nice chapter, hopefully T + B can speak on the phone undisturbed – meaning, maybe there is no more Eric or anyone to distract Tina from the call.
The whole Bette and Dana conversation about shitting in your dreams had me in stitches. I means tears rolling down my cheeks laughing. This chapter was fun to watch ultra Type A not have a control at all, watching her get irritated and frustrated ready to flop down to die from her mindfuck.
Brilliant!
Yay! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was really fun to write and picture Bette freaking out.
