    Tina talks with Angelica, and then drops by someone’s house later on.

    “And what did I say about that?”

    “No choice of chemicals until I’m twelve. It can damage my hair. It’s a crazy decision with great hair like mine. I know, I know.”

    It was frustrating that her daughter just wanted to look like all the celebrities on TV when it came down to it, but she embraced her daughter’s independence, so she tried to keep her comments to herself. “Put your plate back if you’re done,” Tina added, taking another bite of her waffle as she checked the watch on her wrist. “We have ten minutes.”

    “Mom?”

    Tina looked up to Angelica, still chewing.

    “Do you think Bette ever relaxed her hair?”

    Tina sighed as she finished swallowing, trying to be strong when she felt so small. “Do you wanna go with Bette? Is that what you want?” She waited – hopeful that she’d read too much into it. No one could understand her daughter like she did. No one should be closer to Angelica than her. She was surprised with the momentary jealousy that flashed through her by storm.

    “Maybe we could all go?”

    Tina smiled and kissed Angelica’s head. “Okay. Get your things, hunny. We have to go right away.”

    Because Bette resembled Angelica – that must be the reason. She thinks Bette understands better because she has a more similar hair type … Tina sighed as she slipped on her shoes and grabbed her bags. She left with Angelica to drop her off and then get to her own school on time, waving goodbye to her little girl, because Angelica was too old for a kiss and a hug anymore. Not at school.

    After her hectic day, Tina rushed home with Angelica and cooked dinner with her. She tried to get more information out of her daughter to try and understand her strange attitude lately, but it was of little use. Angelica just got quiet again every time she started asking questions about school, so Tina veered into another direction. She asked about the movie planned for the evening, and Angelica lit up with excitement. She talked about her Auntie, and all the things they’d talked about on the phone that they wanted to do during their sleepover.

    “Mom? Is it scary sleeping alone?”

    9. Thanks GR for another amazing update! Been waiting for this update and now pining for the next one :-) so its true that Angelica’s father is a player! Such an irresponsible guy somemore!! Huh!:-( But in the other hand, what Tina said also made sense that somehow its a good thing as she has Angelica and free to love Bette :-) I love the development curve of them GR! Tentative steps as both are not in their comfort zones but eager to try for a better stage in life. PPVS … Thanks again!! :-)
