During the game Tina leaned into Bette. The cheers were so loud that she had to speak into Bettes ear. Their eyes still focused on the game Tina said, I would love to see you again too.

Bette turned to face Tina, their faces almost touching, Bette asked, Yeah?

Yes. Tina said smiling.

How bout now? I mean after the game. We could go get a drink or something. I could drop Shane and Dana off and we could go somewhere.

Tina nodded, Sounds good.

The game was soon finished. Shanes school didnt win but they were all elated nonetheless. Shane scored twenty-eight points and twelve assists. To celebrate, Bette took the girls for ice cream afterward. But her celebrations with Shane and the others had to cut short because she had other plans with Tina. After Bette dropped Shane and Dana home, she and Tina headed to Bar Girls. They found a table in a cosy little corner. Tina sat first while Bette went to the bar to get their drinks. Bette arrived with the drinks, Here you go. She said as she placed Tinas drink in front of her and took her seat.

Thanks. Tina said smiling. Shane was awesome tonight. You sure it was her first game?

She is always practising, she is younger than the other girls so she couldnt play until she was old enough.

Shes really good.

So care to tell me about that disappearing act today?

Oh, well um, see, there was this thing and I had to um, do that thing I was supposed to do.

Yeah, right. And this thing, did you do it? Bette played along.

Oh yeah. I had it covered.

Bette just laughed. I am sure you did

So Bette Tina tried to change the subject as quickly as possible, Tell me something about you I cant find out at work.

What do you mean?

I dunno, tell me about your family. Do you have other siblings? Your parents? Stuff like that.

Well, let me see. My dad was first married to his high school sweetheart and they had a daughter, Kit. Kits mom died from cancer when she was only five. Three months later he married her best friend, which a lot of people didnt approve of. Anyway I was born two years later. I always felt that Kit resented my mom and me.
