Alice: Dane?

Dana: Yeah?

Alice: Will you be my girlfriend?

Dana pulled back slightly, shocked at Alice’s question. It wasn’t bad shock, but she knew this was a big step for Alice. She used both her hands to cup Alice’s face as she looked into her eyes, those big brown eyes that showed her nothing but love. There were tears coming out of them, but she knew Alice was serious. Without breaking the eye contact, Dana replied.

Dana: Yes. Yes I’ll be your girlfriend.

Alice: Really?

The happiness was evident in Alice’s voice. In that moment, Dana had once again made Alice the happiest woman in the world. Dana simply nodded her and kissed Alice firmly on the forehead, ensuring to let her lips brush over Alice scar. It was a simple gesture, but it showed that Dana loved Alice, scars and all. When she pulled back, they were both crying, but they were happy tears. Alice’s arms were still wrapped around Dana, and Danas still cupping Alice’s face. They held the contact until they realised they were supposed to be going to The Planet. Dana ran her thumb over Alice’s cheek to wipe the tears away.

Alice: We’d better get to The Planet, I’m kinda hungry.

Dana: Yeah, me too. Come on, let’s go.

Dana stood and lifted Alice off the couch. They changed clothes and made their way to The Planet. Once they were out of the car, Dana had put Alice in the wheelchair and they were on their way in. However, they didn’t manage to get through the door, as they were bombarded with greetings from their friends. They were all there, Bette, Tina, Shane, Kit, Helena and even Jenny.

Dana: Guys, I didn’t know you were here.

Bette: We were hoping you’d come in.

Tina: Yeah, we wanted to see you both.

Shane: But we thought it would be better if we didn’t come bother you.

Alice: Guys its fine. Just let me in, it’s cold out here.

They chuckled at Alice and made their way inside. They sat at the table, but Alice was unhappy. Shane could sense this and she knew why. Alice wasn’t sitting next to Dana. Both Helena and Jenny wanted to speak to Alice, so they sat on either side of her, leaving Dana next to Helena. Dana wasn’t happy either, but she understood their friends would want to talk to Alice. As Shane was sat opposite Alice, she decided to swap seats with Dana, so she could at least see her girlfriends face. Dana realised what Shane was doing and happily accepted the offer. She saw this as an opportunity. She knew Alice couldn’t feel it, but she decided to do it anyway. It would at least give herself some comfort. She took off her sandal and slowly brought her foot up to Alice’s and began rubbing it with her own. She carried on doing this for another few minutes, until Alice suddenly tensed up, and then released a cry of pain. They all began to panic, especially Dana. She went over to Alice’s side and grabbed her hand. She held her hand and made that eye contact. The tears were streaming down Alice’s face and they were all surprised at how fast they came.
