The Triangle of Love – Chapter 21

It had been 3 weeks since Alice had her pots off, and she was making good progress. She was now able to manoeuvre round the house using a pair of crutches but still had to use the wheelchair for ventures out of the house. Dana had been there every step of the way, and was determined to be by Alice’s side for the rest of her life. She hadn’t gone back to training on a daily basis yet, but was thinking about it when Alice was able to leave the house without her chair. Dana was sat staring at Alice, who was eating her pancakes that Kit’s new chef, Tom, had made for her. They were sat in The Planet, waiting for Bette, Tina, Shane and Carmen. Alice looked up at Dana, who was seemingly lost in her thoughts.

    Alice: Stop staring at me.

    Dana: Huh?

    Alice: Stop it.

Dana: Sorry, lost in thought. How are your pancakes?

Alice: Delicious. Do you want some?

Dana: No thank you, baby. You enjoy them. I’m going to get some fruit later.

Alice: There’s fruit on my pancakes.

Alice lifted a forkful of strawberries, which were also occupied by a lot of whipped cream and caramel sauce. She brought the fork closer to Dana’s mouth, but Dana held her hand up and backed away slightly.

Dana: And they look great. But they aren’t good for me. I can’t be eating that stuff, Al, especially while I’m not training.

Alice: I already told you, you can go back to training. I’m more mobile now and I’m getting better.

Dana: So? I want to take care of you, and if that means missing out on training, that’s what I’ll do.

Alice: I was thinking about moving back into my apartment anyway.

Dana suddenly looked away. She knew Alice would want to at some point, but she was enjoying having Alice living with her. They were taking things slow, very slow, but Alice living with Dana was the one thing right now that was ensuring Dana that taking it slow is the right thing to do. She looked up at Alice, who had a confused look on her face.

    Alice: What?

Dana: Why do you want to move back into your apartment?
