    The Truth About Us

Bette sat at the kitchen table in her underwear, staring at the business selection of the newspaper. However her thoughts had randomly been placed on Tina. She couldnt get her out of her head. She was driving herself insane, wishing she could touch the face of her lover. They had been so perfect for each other, a miracle almost. They blended so well with each others personalities and even with each others flaws. It was an unmistakable bond we shared Bette thought playing with the edge of the paper.

How many nights did they lay awake together, telling their deepest secrets and darkest fears. My biggest fear is loneliness. Bette remember saying. Tinas was love. She always said people thought so highly of it but she thought it hurt more people then saved. Bette liked to think she changed her mind about that…and then sadly changed it back.

It was just that Tina showed her so many new things. She opened doors to the world that Bette had never entered before. Shed even confessed to Bette once. You know…before i met you i never knew love. I was happy enough but never at peace. Not trying to sound mushy but you gave me faith. Well T, you game me faith too. Bette said sitting up and going into her bedroom. She kept a pile of old things from the past seven years. Letters, photos and even postcards. One letter caught her eye. Curiously she read it.

Dear Bette-what can i say? Im miserable without you. I wish you were back in LA rather then in New York. It was a sour time to fight, the week you left on business. I wanted to call but i couldnt gather the nerve to hear your voice. So i wrote this letter instead. Ive try finding something to do while missing you but…but all i do is miss you. See, I wish you were here with me. You cant tell me in your heart you dont love me too. I know you do, even after everything. I didnt mean you hurt you so badly and if i could take it back i would, you know that right? Its been days and im dying thinking youre half way across the country thinking i dont love you. Because i do, i love you not Eric. Look, its a short letter but i figure if i write anymore Ill miss the point. Bette when you get back please come back to me. Please. I do love you. ~TINA~
