    Author Notes:

    Alice and Kit in the recording studio; Shane and Carmen in their new home; Dana needs advice; Kit is irritated with Bette; Tina is still depressed; Alice shocks Shane and Carmen.

    A week later, Alice held her guitar close to her body and followed Kit into the studio.  “Those lyrics were just amazing, Kit.  I hope the music I’ve written can do it justice.”

     

    “Please,” Kit said, waving a hand carelessly.  “You’ve got this, girl.  Now, I got my friend Joan to get us this studio time, but we’ve only got an hour.  We’d better try and get this without a lot of retakes.”

     

    Alice nodded.  “Gotcha.  So, how are we gonna do this?  Should I just play and you guys tape it to lay it over other music later, or what?”

     

    “No, girl.  It’s just you, your guitar, and me.  That’s all we need.  I’m looking for more of a raw, simple sound with this,” Kit explained, picking up a pair of headphones and motioning to someone behind the glass.  “Now go ahead and sit down and play a little for me so I can get a feel for this.”

     

    Feeling a little nervous, Alice hopped up onto the stool and positioned her guitar in front of her.  She almost felt a little shy at first, but she quickly warmed up as she got more into the melody she was producing.  She watched with pride as Kit began smiling and nodding her head slowly, an impressed look on the older woman’s face.  Alice played the last note with a flourish and then looked up.

     

    Kit burst into applause.  “Damn, girl, that was amazing!  You got talent!”

     

    Blushing slightly, Alice grinned so hard it hurt.  “You do, too.  Now are we ready to make this thing happen?”


     

    Shane pulled her Jeep into the driveway of the house, staring at the “sold” sign in the front yard.  “This is my house,” she said softly to herself.  “This is our house.”  Even as she said the words, she could hardly believe them.  Ever since she signed the paper work and was given the keys, she’d been unable to completely grasp the idea that she and Carmen now owned a home together. 

     

    Getting out of the car slowly, she took a deep breath and surveyed the area around her.  A garage.  A backyard.  I never had a backyard growing up.  I can’t believe I actually own a house with an actually yard.  And not just a little strip of grass, either.  It’s the real deal.  I think this is the first time in my life I’ve ever had something this amazing that actually belonged to me.

    2. Another wonderful update, I love Shane and Carmen getting involved in Alice and Dana’s problems. I like your Carmen more than what was given in the show, at least I understand her more. Now what’s gonna happen with Danish?

    5. I can’t believe I didn’t notice “All Shook Up” and the sequal “Time Heals All Wounds” until last night?! Incredible stories! During the earthquake and the aftermath of it, I was biting my nails lol. :p When Shane held up Carmen, I was pretty much saying the mantra of “don’t let Carmen and Shane die, don’t let them die.” When both Jenny and Lara died it was just heartbreaking. I thought for sure Tina was a goner when that fridge landed on her. I can understand and relate to her depression after Jenny died saving her.

      Onto happier things in this sequal: :D
      I love that Shane got Jenny’s lifeinsurance money, although it’s sad. And that Shane and Carmen buying a house together, and their talks about backyards and kids maybe in the future – awesome scenes! I’m a Sharmen fan if you couldn’t tell already lol. I hope Shane talks to Carmen about her fears. And Alice really needs to be honest with Dana, sheesh. Good that she wants to give her fiancé space and all, but there should be limits lol. And lastly I hope there’s nothing too serious with Kit; just exhaustion or something.

      Great fics! You really know how to make the reader think the characters are really f***ed, and then they walk away with just a dislocated shoulder or something haha. Nice writing skills. Very suspenseful. 5 stars for ya! :D Oh, and I LOVE LOVE the quick updates!!
