Last time …
"Okay, whatever!" Bette laughed, taking another sip of her rum and coke.
"I’m not kidding!" Alice giggled, after revealing her newest suspicions of celebrity’s orientations. "And how about you, Shaney?"
Shane was sitting back in the chair with a beer in her hand, smiling at Alice’s question. "You know I don’t care about that stuff, right?"
While they were talking, Tina was accidentally staring at Bette. Ever since she had become friends with Alice, she had formed a crush on the brunette. She was good at hiding it and nobody suspected it because she seemed so straight. Sometimes she would smile at Alice’s suspicions of other people, never guessing that Tina herself could be gay. She loved Bette’s smile, her laugh, everything about her. She wished for just one moment that she could give her any attention.
"Who cares about celebrities anyway?" Dana chuckled, "Only you, Alice."
"Shut up guys," Alice defended, taking another sip of beer.
"Tina, do you keep track of celebrities?" Dana asked, looking to Alice as she shook her head, and then looking back to Tina.
The blonde froze as she felt Bette’s eyes on her. She smiled inwardly and tried not to look like a complete idiot.
"Uh … no," the blonde answered honestly.
"See? Neither do I." Bette chided, "You’re the only one Alice. Right Tina?"
Tina could feel her heart pounding as Bette said her name. She tried not to act the way she felt. "Right," she said calmly, silently congratulating herself.
Bette smiled and Tina melted instantly.
"Mother fucker, it’s getting late," Alice smiled, finishing off her beer.
"Are we heading out now?" Dana asked, uncrossing her legs as she awaited Alice’s decision.
"Meow whu-pshhh," Shane giggled, taking another sip of her beer.
"What is that?" Dana asked, getting out of her chair as she saw Alice nod.
"It’s-"
"Shane," Alice interrupted, looking to Dana. She knew how much Dana hated the word, so she decided to explain it another way. "It means … ‘cat’ whipped."
Dana furrowed her eyebrows.
"What’s another word for cat, Dana?" Shane laughed, finding it hilarious that Dana hated the word so much.
Meanwhile, Tina felt eyes on her again, and seeing that the others were joking around together, she looked to Bette. Just as she looked, she saw Bette turn her head away with a smile. ‘Holy crap!’ Tina thought, ‘she was just looking at me! At me!’ She swallowed hard and tried to calm down. She had always wanted to feel this way.

Wow oh Wow! I loved all three stories and I’m so glad that you will be following up with two of them. This was my favorite one because Tina and Bette are both so awkward with one another. It just makes me smile from ear to ear to see them stumble upon words they don’t really mean to say. I can’t wait for more! Congrats on your exams — I hope that gives you a lot of writing time!
Yeah East! – smile from ear to ear – they’re so cute together! Can’t wait to see how they or “who” breaks the ice! And they better hurry up cause it’s melting! Hurry now – don’t leave us as puddles on the floor!
