    “Poooor Tina,” Alice chuckled into the phone, “She looks like a deer caught in the headlights!”

     

    Once Bette got to work, she made a beeline to her office. She was completely distracted by the blonde and needed some time to get her focus back.

    "Bette," James started once he spotted his boss, "There’s a call for you."

    "James-"

    "Okay," he accepted, understanding she meant she was busy, while Bette walked past his desk and into her office. "Sorry Ms Kennard, but I’m afraid she’s too busy at the moment. Can I take a message?"

    Bette backed up and stuck her head out the doorway, "Ms Kennard?"

    James looked up to the brunette, "Yes, Tina," he answered, covering the phone.

    "I’ll take it," she said, trying to remain calm.

    She closed her door and picked up the phone.

    "Tina?"

    "Hi Bette. Sorry if you’re too busy!"

    "Not at all," she smiled, leaning back in her chair.

    "So … were you thinking about me?" Tina asked shyly, twirling her hair around her finger before noticing she was doing it.

    "I am," Bette smirked, looking up to the ceiling.

    "What are you thinking about?"

    Bette chuckled, "I don’t think I should say."

    Tina laughed back, "Well, I know you have to get back to work, but I just wanted to say that I miss you. Is that crazy? That I already miss you?"

    "No," Bette smiled, "I miss you too."

    There was silence for a moment. "Umm … so can we get together like, tomorrow, do you think?"

    "That would be great," Bette smiled, holding the phone on her shoulder with her head.

    "Umm … can I maybe call tonight?" she asked hesitantly.

    "Of course," Bette smiled, "You can call anytime you like. I’ll look forward to it."

    Tina smiled and relaxed in her chair, "Okay, well I’ll talk to you later then. Bye!"

    "Bye."

    After hanging up, all Bette could think about was Tina. Thoughts flying all over the place as she tried to focus on work. She thought the day couldn’t go by fast enough. At around two in the afternoon, she got another call put through, and she jumped with excitement to pick it up.

    "Hello?" she asked eagerly.

    "Hey Bette," Alice answered, "What the hell is up with you?"

    "Hey Alice," Bette sighed, sitting back in her chair.

    "Ooh … I bet you were wishing it was Tiiiina," she giggled.

    3. A jealous Bette, hummm, is that safe??? Alice is priceless. It’s nice that Tina put Bette at ease about her being able to handle herself against being hit on and that she’s with Bette now. Great update as usual. PPS

    7. that was so cute and funny…they tried to detour me today coming to my desk but I completely ignored them as if I was doing work so they turned around and walked away and I enjoyed reading one of my fanfic favs…YEAH!

    12. ahhhh…I thought Bette was going to jump through the phoneline for a minute. She was so jealous and protective. Alice stole the show though. How freakin’ funny to torment Bette more by telling her the woman had her arm around Tina’s chair. I’m still LOL! Can’t wait for their next meeting…

    19. Awwww, they’ve got it so bad already and just too darn cute. Jealous Bette, or shall I say, jealous and overly protective is amusing. I’m assuming the british accented brunette is Helena, of course. Hope Bette can back her off because when she wants someone she really goes after it. Loved the update. Post when you can.

    20. the reactions of Bette and Tina are so spot on. For T, the first time being hit on by a girl is so daunting isnt it? But I loved how she handled it and through that, she showed where her interest lies…as for B jealousy..its so easy to worry about a “newbie” such as T…great chapter babe, as always…I got a massive smile on my face….cause now I get to read oyur other kick ass story.Thanks for the post…regardless of how long it takes to get out…we still love it more and more..mwah

    22. I loved Tina in this chapter – wondering what these women were doing fighting over her. She is certainly becoming more comfortable with things – and teasing Bette about being jealous and getting Bette to admit it – so good !
