Jenny answers, unabashed.
“Listen Tina, I take my work very seriously. I needed my lens to be pure and untampered as I was writing the sequel. So… I may have been around for the past couple of years… at a distance. What I wrote is what reality would be if people weren’t so fearful.”
“WHAT?! You’ve been stalking us for years and now you think all our lives only look this way because of fear? So, Bette and I are still together – not because we love one another – but because we’re what, too afraid to break up?”
“Not quite. Come on Tina, stop lying to yourself. You’re afraid to leave Bette because you fear that you’ll be ‘nothing’ without her because even when you’re in ‘control’ she’s still the center of attention, and the only thing keeping Bette from fucking around these days is her fear of losing Angelica and ruining her reputation again. You know it’s true Tina, that’s why you’re angry – you see your lives in these pages not because of the slight similarities in the characters but because you see what could be – you’re all just a few courageous choices away from having the reality you desire.”
Tina jumps to her feet, the anger present by her flushed chest.
“Get the fuck–”
Both women startle as the door swings open before slamming shut.
“Jennifer Schecter”
Bette breathes out through gritted teeth.
“Of course, I would find you here harassing my wife. I’ll assume it was you who sent me this little ‘gift.’”
She says sarcastically before tossing the script at Jenny’s feet. She slowly begins moving from the door toward Jenny as she speaks.
“You know Jenny, when we thought you died in our pool, I was conflicted but overwhelmingly sad for you. I started to feel that maybe we had all misunderstood you, and that even though you were constantly wreaking havoc and causing dyke drama in all our lives, maybe your motivations were pure. You tried to blackmail me into confessing a fake affair to Tina. I was angry and hurt by the accusation and situation you put me in, but after you ‘died,’ I thought maybe – maybe – you were just trying to look out for Tina. I was furious when I found out that you had actually stolen the negatives for ‘Lez Girls’ after forging Tina’s name, but later, I thought that maybe you were making a principled stand because they fired you and changed the ending of the film to some heteronormative bullshit. Then,”

I loved how you wrote it and for me it was very realistic, i wish something like this would happen in the second season but given what the writers ruined for us in the firtst season that chance is reduced to zero.
I will take this one of as the truth and what should be happen. You did a excellent job!

It wasn’t until Laurel appeared that gen q had any hope of being renewed. I’d love to have some of the old cast come back now and then because they were also an important part of the LWord and deserve a come back!

Now Laurel is off on a quick jaunt to Arizona. Hopefully on a vision quest. And the background for Jennifer’s post looks like Laurel’s painting. But it’s not. My head hurts!! I actually like this story a lot…. Comes damn close to the Pamela Ewing having a dream that Bobby was dead in Dallas. I told a friend that a repeat of that story would be the best for season 2…. That season 1 was just a bad dream…. Carrie and Tina were never together, never engaged. Carrie was just someone Tina worked with….
Bette and Tina were never divorced…. Kit is very much alive…..

This would be so nice if this was the story for Bette and Tina in season two. Thanks for writing it.. I needed some soothing from Tibette fan fiction.
Perfect! This was how they should have written it as it does make sense. If they just wanted gen Q the Jenn, Leisha and Kate should just remained producers. The fact that they wanted to be in it then makes it more about the whole community, not just the youngsters. All the young one do is give us more drama as that’s what some 20 year old love… drama! I get tired of that.
I loved that Jenny brought up the impetus for Bette and Tina to have this needed conversation so that they could communicate what needed to be said and clarified to one another. Practicing good communication never hurts.
The fact that Bette doesn’t recognize that she has indeed changed for the better is a good example of how we all become our own worst enemy if given a chance. As they say everything happens for a reason.

Bette endeavored to change more than anybody in TLW and she was successful. I like how Bette was clear the intimacy with Tina is what knit her soul to Tina and sex was the doorway to their “lovers world”.
The reason we Tibetters have been spittin’ nails is bc Jenn & Laurel have been so exquisite in charging the air with that intimacy.
The fact the powers that be refuse to allow these two actresses to release those life-sustaining cool-vibes is depressing & infuriating !!!
Elizabeth, I loved the premise of your story. Having season 1 GenQ be a product of Jenny’s lunacy is genius. It was so well-written and I loved how you moved the story to Bette and Tina’s reality. If only the show writers had a modicum of the talent and imagination shown in the storylines on this site. Great job!
