Tossing And Turning – Part 6

Tina sighed. “You are right. I’m sorry for reacting like that…” Tina said. Bette’s expression stayed blank.

When Avila walked back to the table, she noticed the atmosphere immediately. She sat down and gave her daughter the glass with the straw. Avila stayed for half an hour before taking off; she mostly talked to Bette about everything and nothing. Luckily, they also had Rita who always wanted to talk to Bette. Tina had been very short towards Avila. She couldn’t help it. She was so jealous. She knew Bette wasn’t doing her but still, Tina couldn’t help but feel a little threatened by the woman. When they left, Tina sat back drinking her thee, shooting Bette glares. Bette sighed.

“What is your problem?” Bette asked, sounding angry. “There was no need to be so short and plain bitchy to Avila. She is my friend.”

    No answer came.

“You are such a child, Tina. What is it that you want from me? You said that the event from yesterday wouldn’t effect things and look at you. You are as jealous as can be and I don’t even have something with Avila.” Bette told her.

Tina still kept quiet; she knew she was in the wrong.

“You know what? I’m going home. Call me when you get your speech back.” Bette said, took her purse and walked out. Tina banged her hand on the table, making people turn their heads. She fucked that up royally. She stood up, stormed out of the planet, and went up to Bette. She took a hold of the brown-haired woman’s wrist.

“Bette, I’m sorry.” Tina told her; Bette took a deep breath before turning around facing Tina.

“Why are you acting this way? You know that nothing is going on with Avila.” Bette said.

“It’s just… when I was talking about the woman I wanted to ask out yesterday… I meant you, Bette.” Tina said, looking down. “I just… I got jealous.”

Bette smiled a cocky smile; Tina rolled her eyes and shook her head. Bette smiled a warm smile. “So, you want to… date me?” Everything Tina had done wrong the past half an hour just disappeared.

“Yeah…” Tina told her. They smiled at each other. Bette felt like her heart was doing flip-flops in her chest. She never thought this would happen, this was all she ever wanted, be with Tina.

    1. Nice chapter. The carpenter reference was classic. I like that Bette has a friend outside of the gang that she can talk to about Tina so everyone isn’t interfering in their business. Nice progress in their relationship and how you are moving the story along. Thanks for posting often.

    2. Nice post! Tina’s reaction was awesome…lol did she think Bette had another family? The green eyed monster strikes again. Can’t wait to see what’s next for our girls.

    3. Well, the date seems to have gone well. Interesting dream… why does no one ever seem to reference the Bon Scott era of AC/DC? Pre-1980 AC/DC is classic! Nice chapter, thanks!

    4. I (I) C (can’t) B (be) D (defeated) your name is too long to keep saying typing “thanks I can’t be defeated” It sounds like I’m making bold statement about myself. Thanks for the post and nice touch with the random BFF with a kid to make Tina jealous. Whatever pushes things along 
