True Love Way/ Fall Into You – Chapter 1

    Chapter 1

It was blistering hot outside, even in the shadows of the trees. There was no soft breeze, no place where one could cool down. Most people had hidden themselves inside their houses. Nobody was used to this kind of weather.

Tina Kennard was lying down on her bed, the shutters down, about to doze off, when her mother called her. She sighed and sat up too quickly which made her lose her balance.

    “I’m coming!” she yelled.

She took a minute to regain her composure and stood up. Her mother had sounded excited and she wondered what had happened. It was the end of July, August was luring around the corner. Maybe it was her Hogwarts book list?

She arrived in the kitchen where she found her mother beaming.

“An owl arrived for you, honey,” her mother smiled. “I couldn’t help but open it – I was so curious – you’re going to your fifth year so…”

Tina frowned her eyebrows. She wasn’t mad at her mother for opening a Hogwarts letter, but she didn’t like the idea of her mother reading other mail.

She sat down and her mother handed her two envelopes. “Two?” she asked. A thought flashed through her mind, but that was just too surreal. No, she shouldn’t get her hopes up.

She got a sheet of parchment out of one already opened envelope, only to find her book list. She read it quickly, not really interested. She would only head to Diagon Alley at the end of the month, when everything was cheaper because of the school year that was about to start.

She took the second envelope, which was heavier than the first. She turned it upside down and a badge fell out. She held her breath, not wanting to look at it. It lay upside down on the table. She opened the parchment that was inside the envelope and read out loud.

    Dear Ms. Kennard,

we are pleased to inform you that we have found you fit to be Prefect for your House, Gryffindor. Your badge is included, you are to wear it any time. You are expected to spend the train ride to Hogwarts at September, 1 in the Prefect Compartment. You are also expected to guide the first-years that same evening. There will be a gathering on September, 4 where we will inform all Prefects about their duties.

    1. Hello Genner… Ok know that is completely AWESOME… hmmmmmm I’m not sure about my Bette being a Slytherin but I shall trust your judgement LOL… but this is going to be so kick ass awesome full of magic and “Falling” in LOVE… well one can hope right tee hee… the idea to merge these two universes is completely inspired and I’m glad someone with your exceptional skills has taken it on… it sure would be a fun world to play in… please keep up the amazing story and where the title is concerned I think “Fall Into You” seems to be a nice fit… much love and hugs, JC (“Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)

    2. Okay first great start. But I’m curious where you take this story. I’m a hug Harry Potter Fan. Yesterday I saw in the movie HP and the halfblood prince, was great. I have read all the books more than one, so I’m prepared. I thought you make HP Bette Porter, the name is similar and to my shock a Slytherin – oh that’s not good. So it’s Tina aka HP? Please post soon.
