The ride back
Alice angrily staggered to the car, fussing and complaining because she couldnt end the night how she planned. Dana shoved her into the over-sized SUV and gave her a grave look, shut your mouth and go to sleep. Instant fear came over Alice and she complied without another word. Jenny and Marina smiled politely, eased into the car, and followed suit by going to sleep. Shane was toying with the piece of paper her date had given her and Dana rolled her eyes. Shane just grinned and refused to further acknowledge Dana or her mood.

Tina sat in the front seat and began taunting Shane, youre not gonna call her anyway, so why not toss it.

Hey, ya never know now, Shane grinned. I like this place and may come back, so its always good to have a number, Shane went on and then flipped the teasing back to Tina. So, who were you incognito with? Shane tapped Tina on the back of her head. And dont say no one cause I know better, Shanes ribbing continued.

Yeah, Tina, Dana cut in. Where were you half the night?

Tina felt her cheeks get warm and she turned to look out the window.

Well? Dana asked again and looked quickly over her shoulder at Shane who shrugged her shoulders.

Spill it unless you wanna see the wrath of Dana the Demon, Shane started in again.

Fine! Okay, Tina yielded. If you must know, I was hanging out in a VIP room with someone named Nya, Tina informed her nosey friends.

Nya huh? Shane questioned. She sounds beautiful, Shane closed her eyes to imagine.

Tina blushed, yes, she is, Tina said with a smile, but it comes from the inside out. Shes really nice, Tina continued effortlessly.

Hmm? Sounds fishy to me, Shane teased again. Sounds like youve got a crush on Nya. Nya. Nya. Nya, Shane taunted as if she was singing.

Dana giggled and then got serious. Tina how much do you like Nya? Dana mysteriously inquired.

Tina sensed there was something behind Danas inquiry and tried not to get defensive. Uhm, thats kinda hard to say seeing as I just met her, Tina replied. What do you mean exactly?
