    Unusual Meeting – Chapter 6

    Previously …

Bette walked Tina to the door of the guestroom and kissed her goodnight.

    “Good night” Bette told her.

“Mmmm good night to you too.”

Bette kissed her again, this time so much slower and gentler.  It was a kiss that was going to have to last them both for the next few hours.  “Tina, I’m an old-fashioned girl.  I believe in taking things slow.  I believe in courtship, wooing and winning.  So prepare to be swept off your feet ….” Bette said as she smiled and turned to head to the other end of the house.

Bette laid in bed and glanced at the clock – 2am.  She could not sleep.  She was consumed by everything Tina.  She could still smell her scent, still feel her in her arms.  Her lips tingled still from their last kiss.  She longed to be able to hold her again, kiss her again and to touch her.  Just thinking about all those things, Bette felt herself getting wet.  I may have to reconsider this whole ‘taking things slow’ thing.  Or take a lot of cold showers.

She knew she had never felt like this before.  Never had she had so much trouble keeping her mind on the job like she did earlier tonight.  She had not ever been so distraught to leave someone’s company that she resented having to go to work.  Her job had been her life for the last twelve plus years.  She had been in relationships before, but none of them had ever competed with her dedication to her job.  One of her oldest and dearest friends at work, Sergeant Hanson, had teased her one day about her dedication.  He grabbed her left hand and pointed to her ring finger.  “We need to put a badge right there.  Because you’re not married to anyone else, you’re married to the department.”

She was having a very difficult time, trying to categorize all of her emotions where Tina was concerned. She needed to be able to fully identify each one, so then she could put it exactly where it belonged.  All she knew was that Tina belonged in her heart; she had already made a home there.  Now she had to figure out how to how to fit her into the rest of her life.

    1. Pass the klenex please. I think that I am going to rewind this movie so that I can watch it over and over. The sweet calm that over comes a person when they finally say what is in their heart and it is met with a positive response. Love this story and hope that you get to post soon.

    2. So sweet, though I find it hard to believe they didn’t want to take it any further after all the making out and “I love you”s. Let’s see what the morning brings. Maybe Tina can just stay with Bette and they can live happily ever after?

    3. Hey, after declaring my love for Bette, I woudn’t be sleeping!!!!!!! they no longer have to take it slow since they have declared their feelings. (just my opinion)
