“I’m positive. I wanted to be in here last night” Tina told her. “And you called me T?”
“Sorry if it bothers you I won’t.”
“No, I like it, I like it a lot.”
“Mmmm, I like you a lot.” Bette tells her as she takes her in her arms and starts kissing her again. After a minute she stops. “You ready for bed?”
“Uh huh. Which is your side of the bed?” Tina asked.
“I don’t have a side. I sleep alone, so I’m usually in the middle” Bette answered. “But I hope that’s going to change soon” she told Tina, wiggling her eyebrows up and down at her.
“We’ll just have to see about that.” Tina teased back. She then gestured toward the bed, silently asking again where Bette wanted to be.
“I’ll sleep on this side, so I’m between you and the door.”
Tina just looked at her questioningly.
“It’s a cop thing. That way if someone ever breaks in, they have to go through me before they could ever get to you.”
Tina thought that was so sweet. She felt safe and protected when she was with Bette. It wasn’t just because she was a police officer, it was much more than that. “Ok, honey let’s go to bed.”
They each climbed into bed from their respective sides and quickly met in the middle, eager to reclaim their hold on one another. They settled in next to each other. Bette was on her back with her arm around Tina’s back, Tina had her head resting on Bette’s shoulder. Their silence was comfortable, both of them lost in their own thoughts of happiness and their future together. They had been laying there for quite a while when Bette whispered, “are you asleep?”
“No, why?” Tina whispered back, and raised her head up to look her in the eyes.
“There’s something I need to tell you …” Bette trailed off. Tina was now very apprehensive because the look in Bette’s eyes was one of concern.
“Ok, go ahead” Tina told her, not really sure she wanted to hear what she had to say.
“Tina, I’ve fallen for you. Head over heels, no turning back, from here to eternity. I love you. I think I have loved you from the first moment we met” Bette said, relieved to finally get the feelings out.
“I love you too” was all Tina could get out before she started to cry.
“T, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
“I thought you were about to tell me something bad. But instead you said the words I’ve dreamed of hearing for the past few days. I’m so happy. Will you say it again, please?”
“I love you Tina Kennard. I love you, I love you, I love you.”
“Oh Bette. I love you so much.”
Bette sighed out loud. “I feel much better now. Maybe I can sleep tonight.”
“You didn’t sleep much last night?” Tina questioned.
“No, I couldn’t go to sleep for all the thoughts of you running around in my head.”
“Baby, you need to sleep tonight. I’m not going to be running anywhere, except into your arms.”
“Good answer, good answer.” Bette said as she yawned.
“Let’s sleep now. I love you. Have sweet dreams.”
“I don’t need to have sweet dreams, my dream already came true. I love you sweetheart. Good night.”
They both slept the night through, wrapped in the arms of the love of their life.

That was good. I was scard for second and thought that Tina was going to say she was married, although that would have been a great twist.

Sweet story. Bette is so different than the TV Bette. Kinder and more thoughtful.
So sweet, though I find it hard to believe they didn’t want to take it any further after all the making out and “I love you”s. Let’s see what the morning brings. Maybe Tina can just stay with Bette and they can live happily ever after?
