“It was good. Did you sleep well?”
“Fine. Thanks for the note … and the rose.”
“My pleasure. I hated to leave, but I needed the exercise. I’m gonna take a quick shower, be right back.”
Bette showered in record time and returned to the kitchen to find Tina setting the dishes on the table. “Come here” she said as she wrapped her arms around Tina from behind and turned her to face her. Bette leaned in and kissed her softly. “That’s better. Good morning.”
“Didn’t we already do the ‘good morning’ thing?” Tina questioned her.
“Yeah kind of, but I was sweaty, so I didn’t want to get too close.” Bette explained.
“Ok, I’m not complaining, just checking my short term memory.”
After breakfast, Bette suggested they sit on the back porch for a while. Tina went straight for the hammock, almost running. “I take it you’re fond of the hammock?” Bette expressed what was obvious.
“This is my favorite piece of furniture in your whole house. Join me?” Tina looked at Bette and patted the space next to her. Bette climbed on the hammock with her and wrapped her arm around Tina’s shoulder so they resting comfortably.
Again they were both quiet, just enjoying the nearness of the other. “So what do you want to do today?” Bette asked her.
“I don’t care. But I would like to ride the motorcycle some time. What did you have in mind for today?”
“It doesn’t matter to me, as long as I’m with you.”
“Oh really, so if I told you I wanted to go shopping all day?”
“I would buy you whatever you want.”
“And if I told you I wanted to sit around and watch Lifetime all day?”
“I’d go get the Kleenex” Bette responded.
“What about bungee jumping?”
“I’ll try anything once.”
“You’re something else Porter. You know that?” Tina chuckled.
“Is that a good something or a bad something?”
“It’s all good” Tina answered.
They spent the majority of the day out back, snuggled up in the hammock, talking and kissing and talking some more. In the evening, they took the bike ride. Both of them enjoyed the close contact that the bike required. They rode around for a while, selecting the quiet country roads over the constant city traffic. Tina felt free, the whole ‘wind through your hair thing’ that people experience when they ride. When they returned home, Tina explained how addictive she felt that was.

That was good. I was scard for second and thought that Tina was going to say she was married, although that would have been a great twist.

Pass the klenex please. I think that I am going to rewind this movie so that I can watch it over and over. The sweet calm that over comes a person when they finally say what is in their heart and it is met with a positive response. Love this story and hope that you get to post soon.

Sweet story. Bette is so different than the TV Bette. Kinder and more thoughtful.
So sweet, though I find it hard to believe they didn’t want to take it any further after all the making out and “I love you”s. Let’s see what the morning brings. Maybe Tina can just stay with Bette and they can live happily ever after?
