They are breathless when they break the kiss, eyes still closed, foreheads touching.
Bette – What are you doing to me?
The blonde opens her eyes and her lips curve up into a smile.
Tina – The same thing that you are doing to me.
Bette’s office, evening: Tina gazes at the beautiful face in front of her. She could do this … for hours. Every inch of these lips … she could kiss for hours. She smiles.
Tina – You don’t look angry this time around …
Bette smiles and opens her eyes. She sighs, still trying to catch her breath.
Bette – Impossible …
She kisses the blonde’s lips and caresses her face. They look into each other’s eyes. She can finally gaze at all the green streaks in those hazel eyes without feeling like she should run. She doesn’t want to run. Her eyes are as bright and shiny now as they are dark when she gets upset. She wants to get lost in them … to get lost in her.
Bette – You were always showing up unexpectedly. Sometimes you argued with me … sometimes you apologized … sometimes you were friendly … sometimes you were upset … It was a rollercoaster of emotions.
The producer kisses her lips.
Tina – I know … I was riding the rollercoaster. I couldn’t make heads or tails of it. It’s all so … surprising.
She plays with the gallery owner’s hair.
Tina – Am I not clear this time?
Bette – You are!
She gives the blonde a soft kiss.
Bette – I could stay here all night just kissing you … but I need to go back.
The blonde hugs her and nuzzles her neck.
Tina – Uh-huh …
Bette – Will you wait for me?
Tina – What are you doing for dinner?
Bette – I … have dinner plans with art critics and some friends. You’re welcome to join us!
Tina – I prefer to wait. I would be too distracted anyway.
She looks up at the brunette and smiles mischievously.
Tina – Are you already booked for the night?
The brunette smiles.
Bette – I’m free after dinner.
