    When Hope Is Lost

Finally their flight was announced and soon after they were seated in their row of three across. Ozzie wanted the center seat, Kit took the window and Bette took the aisle seat. He was so excited to actually be on the plane and beamed his excitement at his mom and auntie. After all the passengers were on, seated and buckled in, the engines began their roar and soon after were moving the plane towards their runway, down the tarmac they quickly moved.

The plane lifted off the ground and off they headed towards Philadelphia. As soon as he could he moved over onto Kit’s lap, kneeling with his arm around her neck and they chatted about all they could see below them as their plane passed over the countryside. Every now and then he would turn and share something about what he was seeing below them with his Momma. She would listen attentively and he would beam at her and then would go back to talking with Kit.

Before he was ready, it was time for the plane to land and he had to go back to his seat and buckle in. He held both his Momma’s and his AuKi’s hands as the plane’s wheels hit the tarmac and then taxied to the proper gate to let them leave the plane. Bette and Kit waited on the plane for most of the other passengers to leave so that he wouldn’t be rushed in his walk down the aisle to leave the plane.

When they felt that it was the proper time, they unbuckled their belts and his and then stood up, gathered their belongings and then he lead the way as they exited the plane. He carried his Monk and his little backpack as he made his way off the plane.

As he approached the front of the plane, he stopped to shake the flight attendant’s hand to thank her, and then the pilot appeared and he shook his hand as well and thanked him for doing a good job flying the plane. The pilot then reached inside his pocket for a pair of wings and pinned them on Ozzie’s coat and he was beyond thrilled.

    1. I’m not sure what to think about Melvin, really, or Bette and Kit’s attitude toward him, knowing what they know. Maybe now that Melvin wants to actively be a part of Bette, Kit and Ozzie’s lives, they can let him know that they’re aware of what happened with Maxine and their newly-found siblings and they can all start afresh… At least they’re all making the effort. Thanks for posting. :)

    2. Wonderful chapter. We all should have an Ozzie in our lives. As Kit said he is an angel on earth. I’m so happy that he has softened Bette’s attitude toward Tina and I really want Ozzie to meet Tina, both with hazel eyes and such, he will be instantly loved by Tina, and she by him. Can’t wait for that meeting. Glad old sourpuss is softening up to Ozzie and I think he will be the catalyst in getting them back together. I suppose with his eyes and his other features he would look like the the baby boy they lost. Great chapter. Thanks for posting.

    3. Forgiveness is all that matter im so happy Melvin came to his senses he really needed to apologize to Bette and Kit for neglecting them but he also owe a major apology to Tina for disrespecting her numerous of times but mostly to Maxine foe what he done to her could never be forgotten!
