He looked back at his momma and auntie with big eyes of excitement. Bette and Kit waited patiently with big smiles on their faces. Within five minutes they were inside the terminal and headed over to the car rental area. He held his Momma’s hand while they walked over.
As they waited for service, he excitedly shared with Bette and Kit his set of wings that the pilot had given him. He was so animated with everything that had happened on his trip so far; they both beamed. Kit could see that the walking was making him tired so she picked him up and held him close. He thanked her. They shared a few kisses as he caresses her cheeks while talking to her. He was such a love muffin.
Within a few minutes they had their car, had loaded their luggage inside the trunk and were on their way to the Porter’s house. The car came with a booster seat for him so that he could look out the window and see the landscape before him. He loved everything he was experiencing and chatted excitedly with his momma and auntie.
Bette and Kit both pointed out different the landmarks around the city that they passed on their way to their father and stepmother’s home. Soon enough they were there and pulled up to the curb. They exited the vehicle, grabbed their bags and walked up the snow-covered sidewalk. Bette and Kit were halfway up the sidewalk when Ozzie hollered to his mom.
“Momma, pease stop!” He yelled to her and she stopped quickly and turned around to look at him.
“Honey, what is it?” His mom asked him concerned.
“Mom, it slickery for me. I need some help pease.” He said to her with this look in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Sweetie, I’ll come and get you. Kit will you take my bag for me?”
“Sure, hand it to me and I’ll take it up to the door. I forget he isn’t so stable on his feet in weather like this.”
“Yes, I should have known better. Coming, Oz.” Bette said to him after she handed her suitcase off to her sister and then went back down the walkway where Ozzie was standing trying to keep his feet under him. She picked him up in her arms, grabbed his bag as she apologized to him and then they turned and headed back up to the house.

I’m not sure what to think about Melvin, really, or Bette and Kit’s attitude toward him, knowing what they know. Maybe now that Melvin wants to actively be a part of Bette, Kit and Ozzie’s lives, they can let him know that they’re aware of what happened with Maxine and their newly-found siblings and they can all start afresh… At least they’re all making the effort. Thanks for posting. :)

Wonderful chapter. We all should have an Ozzie in our lives. As Kit said he is an angel on earth. I’m so happy that he has softened Bette’s attitude toward Tina and I really want Ozzie to meet Tina, both with hazel eyes and such, he will be instantly loved by Tina, and she by him. Can’t wait for that meeting. Glad old sourpuss is softening up to Ozzie and I think he will be the catalyst in getting them back together. I suppose with his eyes and his other features he would look like the the baby boy they lost. Great chapter. Thanks for posting.

Forgiveness is all that matter im so happy Melvin came to his senses he really needed to apologize to Bette and Kit for neglecting them but he also owe a major apology to Tina for disrespecting her numerous of times but mostly to Maxine foe what he done to her could never be forgotten!
