Meanwhile back in LA…

The sun slowly filtered through the curtains in the bedroom where Tina now lay in the bed she formally shared with her deepest love, slowly waking up to a new day. Her first thoughts were of Bette strongly feeling the absence of her in her life, and her next thoughts were from underneath the hand that now lay upon her abdomen. There was now a new life being created in there as had been confirmed by a test and a visit to the doctor’s office.

Unfortunately, Tina lay there in a ball of confusion not knowing what to do. It was Bette’s baby as that had been her intention to carry their second baby, but it had been a while since she had seen Bette. Her intuition told her that all was not right with her world.

She remembered back to the night when Bette had come home from work and confessed her sins of kissing another woman, but then how badly she had reacted to the confession. Bette had allowed the kiss to happen but had then stopped herself from going any further realizing her horrendous mistake  and commitment to her marriage. Tina also remembered back to the many and varied apologies that then came over the next few months from the woman she loved so deeply, and then how she stupidly rejected each one.

Once again her life-long depression and damn raging hormones had gotten the better of her and she realized that she had lost something very important to her… the other half of her heart. She subsequently felt her own heart hurting and could only blame herself for how horribly she had treated Bette over the past few months.

Tina now realized that the tables had been turned and wondered if Bette would give her a chance to apologize and explain her bad reactions to the situation. She understood with great clarity that this was the defining moment for her to be truly honest with her wife and share her almost lifelong truth with her.

After sitting up and stretching, she stood up and headed for the shower. She stayed there for many minutes allowing the warmth of the hot water to penetrate her sore and tired muscles. Soon after, she washed up and exited, drying off and then getting dressed. She was meeting the others at the Planet, the extended family’s usual hangout on Sunday mornings. She had plans to ask Kit, Bette’s sister and owner, if she had seen or heard from her sister, Tina’s wife.
