    When Hope is lost:

With the realization of what her actions had caused her, Tina collapsed towards the floor and sobbed for her loss and the mess she had created with being so deceptive, distant, stubborn and passive aggressive. When she finally recovered enough to talk, she called Kit who came over immediately. They sat on the sofa held each other and cried for their loss.

Tina also shared with Kit at this time that she was pregnant with Bette’s baby but that she hadn’t shared that news with her, as everything had become so messy and chaotic. Bette didn’t know that she was going to be a mom. In that moment, both women felt as low as anyone could who had messed up terribly with family. Kit promised Tina that she’d be there for her with the baby and Tina shared her gratefulness.

It was during the next week, at the next meeting of the family on Sunday morning where Tina shared with everyone that she was pregnant with Bette’s baby, but that Bette didn’t know about it. She also shared with everyone that Bette had signed the ownership of the house over to her along with the furnishings and all of her artwork… but the saddest news was that Bette had started the process to officially end their marriage. The members of the extended family were in shock with the news.

She shared that Bette had left her with all of the money in their checking account but had taken half of their savings. Tina then shared that she wasn’t going to sign the papers or send them back until she could at least find Bette and seriously talk with her. The rest of the family was all at a loss for words after hearing this news. They looked at one another with surprise.

They now realized how ignorant and immature they had been in their actions to turn their backs on their good friend. Instead, they shouldn’t have taken sides but should have supported both women during this crisis. The consequences were severe, as Bette had disappeared feeling unloved and rejected by all of them. They all promised Tina that they would be there for her with the baby. They owed that to her and Bette. It was quite the sad family for a couple of months.

As best they could, they tried to move forward together as a stronger family unit with a clearer knowledge of what it truly meant to be family. They would also do whatever it took to find Bette and bring her back home. By this time she was greatly missed by everyone.

    1. Great update. You’re doing a great job with this story. Can hardly wait to see where you take it. I just caught up with the posts. You have laid down some very interesting premises. Great going. Thanks.

    2. Regret is a good motivator at times. They all better start figuring it out, but Bette’s making a new life out there in NY… they might have a hard time getting her back seeing as how they so easily turned their backs on her. Cheers!
