    Who’s Pointing Fingers Chapter 13

After he finished, there sat Bette, the powerful Bette Porter with a big aluminum splint and white tape all over her hand. No matter what she did, it stuck straight up. There would be no missing it. It was huge.

“I have insurance. Do you take medical insurance? Should I just write you a check and turn it in my self?” Bette was trying to get the bill paid.

“No, I will just let Thomas take care of it. If he wants to send me a little something he will.”

“No really, I don’t mind writing you check. It’s no problem at all.” Bette was almost pleading with him to allow her to pay for his services.

“It’s just not how we do things here but, thank you.”

“No, thank you for seeing me. In LA I would have had to have gone to the emergency room and waited five hours just to be seen and then what you just did would have cost me, or, rather my insurance a ton.”

“I guess I practiced medicine in the wrong place all these years. I could have been a rich man.” Dr. Sloan replied with a genuine smile. “You ladies have a good day. If you need me, just give me a call.”

“Thank you.” Bette reached out her uninjured hand. The doctor gently shook it.

As Kit and Bette walked out the door, Kit could not help herself. “ They thought you were well hung before!”

“Kit, stop it! Don’t you start that when we get back. Promise!”

“I promise but, Alice is going to have a heyday with this.”

“I will handle Alice. Don’t you get her started though.”

“Do you think we should stop by that market and pick up a few things.” Kit was thinking about the van getting them home but not getting them back to the market.

“Yeah, we probably should. What could we throw together that everyone would like? What about a big salad with all kinds of veggies. I might need to get some aspirins or something too.”

“Yeah, salad sounds good to me. We probably need to pick up some other things too. We can just do a quick run through.”

“No problem with it taking too long. Two aisles and that’s it. Poof, your done!” Bette was remembering going to the market with Tina and standing in the huge produce section picking out vegetables and fruits. She loved going to the market with Tina. Hell, she loved being anywhere with Tina.

    1. Marinda was such a beautiful lady. Love that Bette is such a baby. Tina will take care of Bette and will keep Alice in line the Kennard way, thanks for posting

    2. ok now I know who’s pointing fingers, its Bette….LOL… ok that was a bad Alice joke and I apologize…”wink” anyway not suprise by Aunt Agnes “companion” …cant wait to see what happens next…PPS

    3. Loved it. I have a picture of Miranda in my head and I have always loved the name Miranda. Yes, Tina will get all soft and gooey and take very good care of Bette.I want to know more about Miranda and Agnes’ lives together. We don’t know if they lived together at any time. I hope they had that opportunity. Robert was quite a man to understand that they loved each other and needed to be allowed to express that love without recriminations, guilt and hatred towards them. Mr. LaCroix told Bette that Miranda would ot live long enough to spend her own money let alone Agnes’. Did that mean because of her age or is she ill as well as aged? I hope he only means age. Really would lke to know more about those two ladies with that all consuming love. Get Bette back home to Tina. Wonderful chapter. PPS

    4. Sorry to hear about your grandpa, but sometimes you have to let the professionals take over even if you don’t want to (: at least you gave it your best try. I am glad everything went well for Bette and Kit and maybe they will keep in touch with Miranda. Now Bette needs to work on Tina and getting them back together. PPS

    5. I am sorry to hear about your father’s illness. I know that it was hard for you to do what you have done. As far as the story, Miranda is a wonderful woman along with Agnes. This may be what is needed to get Bette and Tina over the edge and into a better situation together.

    6. great i like where the story is heading…i wonder who they saw.gosh ive been so distracted reading this instead of doing my assignment.ure a bad influence PPVS
