Truth be told Bette was pure honesty in that note. Of course she wasn’t expecting Tina to jump into a relationship and get married and have a child with her in the next two months because of a simple present, but again Bette was completely honest with her words, both the spoken and the written ones. She wanted to try and make Tina happy and deep down Bette was feeling that way long before Tina ever mentioned anything about her recent past.

A recent past that was very sad and tragic indeed, and yet Bette was somehow not able to form an opinion about it. She had had her share of listening to everybody’s relationship comings and goings in the past, so she wasn’t unfamiliar with how people change when they are in a relationship and all the variations of break ups there are… well maybe not all of them but still, Bette knew better about being judgemental when it came to feelings.

Her own very little and especially very short experiences and everyone else’s experiences helped her realize in time that you actually have to be in the relationship to truly know how things really work there. Everyone is different and every relationship is like the unique and unrepeatable mixture or genes that we all are, so extraordinary and irreplaceable in our own composition that the definition of a relationship to Bette came very close to that… to Bette relationships were like people. They have a life and a character of their own, so to speak.

Bette was caught up in this conversation with herself when she was startled by Kit who was approaching the table with what was yet another round of coffee.

“Baby sis… you really have to stop this, it’s not healthy for you. Just look at you… All nervous and shit… Now what do you think that pretty blonde is gonna think when she sees you like that ah? When she walks through that door?”

“And how do you know I am expecting her?” Bette asked with a rather ironic tone in her voice.

“Don’t get all smart ass on me… hey this is me here… I know you and I know this pretty lady has to be coming here because Bette I swear I have never seen you this nervous before… What the hell baby sis?”
