    B&T beginning – At The Planet

     

    Bette really looked defeated now, she lowered her head to sink her gaze on the hot cup of coffee in front of her. But Kit was not gonna let it go, she didn’t have the chance to see Bette all that often and she was beginning to be worried.

     

    “Look Bette, just talk to me ok? What’s going on? Did you behave like a pompous ass with her? What did you do?”

     

    Bette was still looking down at her coffee but this time she was releasing one of those big breaths you let out before starting a big story telling or giving bad news.

     

    “It’s nothing like that Kit.” Now lifting her head, meeting Kit’s eyes, she continued.

     

    “I… I don’t know what is it about Tina Kennard that has me going crazy, buzzing around her like a fly to a candy.”

     

    Kit released a giggle. “Oh you’ve got it bad baby sis…”

     

    Now it was Bette’s turn to slightly release a giggle.

     

    “Maybe I do… I honestly don’t know. All I know is that I met Tina three days ago and my life has been turned upside down. Everything I was planning now is beginning to be re-evaluated. And no… I wasn’t a pompous ass with her… not yet at least, I… we….” Bette started stammering, bringing Kit’s eyes to open a bit wider if that was at all possible.

     

    “You… Without words… You… What the fuck?” Kit said with a genuine questioning face.

     

    Bette opened her mouth and nothing was coming out of it. She then slowly closed her eyes trying to focus once again only to reopen them after being able to form the beginning of a sentence at least.

     

    “We went out with the girls and after that Tina was a bit drunk… well we all were, so I took her home in a cab. She asked me to go inside her house because she needed to say something to me and so I did…”

     

    “Ohh don’t tell me you were your usual I-left-quietly-in-the-morning-Porter” Kit interrupted.

     

    “Hey… All the girls that I’ve slept with know better than to expect me to stick around and are you gonna let me finish?”
