Robin ”Yeah, them.  They have their own lives and…”

Gabby ”We’re trying to just live ours.  Been exciting so far.  So what’s going on with you guys?”

Dax joins the group, along with Chandra.

Dax ”Partyin’ up in here.  ’Sup, babes?”

Mark ”Hey, Dax.”

Dax ”Mark, Gomey, where are your girls at?”

Gomey ”Trish has got a shoot tonight.  I told her I’d try to stay outta trouble.”

Mark ”Having him around a bunch of girls who wouldn’t give him the time of day seemed like the perfect solution.”

Gomey ”See what I gotta put up with?”

Helena ”Well, it is certainly good to see so many of you in one setting.”

Dax ”By the way, guys this is Chandra.  She’s a friend of mine, we’re just hangin’ out, dancin’, y’know.”

Chandra ”Hi.”

Alice ”Hey, Chandra.  Welcome aboard the freak train.”

Lara ”Alice, no scaring off the new faces.”

Alice ”I’m just saying hi.”

Tina ”So…Gabby, what’s going on with you these days?”

Gabby ”Oh…still working on my dream project.”

Alice ”You mean the Lesbian Cop Drama thing?”

Gabby ”Tina, you don’t mind me talking screenplays do you?”

Tina laughs.

Tina ”I go through so many screenplays and treatments at work…after a while it all just sorta blurs together.”

Helena ”She is a really dedicated worker.”

Tina’s cellphone rings.

Tina ”Excuse me.”

Tina leaves the group to talk on her phone.  It is Henry.

Gabby ”Dana.  You holding up okay?”

Dana ”Some days are better are than others.  Thankfully I still have my friends here with me.  I’ve got Lara and we’ve got Al.”

Gabby ”Al’s great.”

Carmen ”I agree.  Al’s great.”

Lara looks over at Carmen.

Lara ”She is.”

Gabby ”How about you, Shane?”

Shane ”Me?  I’m an asshole.”

Carmen ”Shane!”

Gabby ”Still have your charm, I see.”

Shane smirks at Gabby.  For those in the group who know better, this bit of interaction between them is considered major progress, if not remarkable.

The party soon comes to a break from the music.  A trailer for the documentary is shown.  The crowd applauds at its conclusion, giving Mark a slight boost of confidence.  Soon, he finds himself with a microphone, addressing everyone in attendance.

Mark ”A little over a year ago…I was documenting my own life.  I was…being a pain in the ass to my friend, Gomey.  I was looking for a new place to stay.  I was looking for a house if possible and an apartment if necessary.  I was looking to be roommates with people who wouldn’t mind having this…eccentric…and slightly deviant personality living among them.  And that’s when I met Carmen and Shane.  They could have rejected me, but they didn’t.  They allowed me to not just be a roommate, but become a part of their world.  I owe everything to them, because without them…this night would not be possible.  Let’s give it up for Shane and Carmen!”
