Alice’s mouth becomes covered by her own right hand.  Lara leaves from her standing position, walking toward Carmen and a further shocked audience surrounding her.

Lara ”Fuck it.  I’ll be the knight in shining armor!  I’ll do it!  …You deserve to be happy!  You deserve to be with someone who’s gonna make you happy!!!”

Her voice is shaking, colliding with the tears that stream from her eyes.

Lara ”I’ll!  Marry you!!!  Please…let me!”

Mercedes ”Carmen, I don’t understand what is going on here!”

Carmen is in shock.  Lara is now face to face with Carmen, placing her hands on Carmen’s shoulders.  Lara bites her lip as they lock eyes.

Lara ”I love you.  I can love you…please.  We can get away from all this!  We can do this together!  I know what I want.  …And that’s to make you the happiest I can.  …Please.”

The witnesses to this continue to only look on, with Mercedes backing away.  This is too much to comprehend.  As everyone else looks on, Lara and Carmen wrap their arms around one another, tears continuing to stream down from both of their faces.

Carmen ”…I love you.”

Lara smiles as the tears pour out even more, burying her face against Carmen’s left shoulder.  Carmen does the same with Lara’s.  They cry together and despite all the people around them, none of them exist.  It is only the two of them.  Alice looks down.  She truly knows it is time to move on.  Tonya looks on at Alice and then looks down.  She feels sad and just as she did at Dana’s funeral, finds herself to blame for the sorrow.

Peggy ”…Well…somebody do something.”

Carmen and Lara pull their faces back and lean their heads forward, their noses touching.  Her voice is shaking, just as Lara’s.

Carmen ”I know…you could.  And I wish…we could.  …We could make each other so happy.”

Lara ”Carmen…”

Their lips touch, meeting into a kiss.  Alice sheds a tear at the sight.  Her regret in not talking Shane out of ditching has increased dramatically.  Bette can see the hurt all around her.  She sees Tina looking back.  Henry can only look on in confusion.  It is all he has.

The kiss lingers for a moment before Carmen finally pulls away.
