“Ah, yet another Los Angeles limo driver in need of serious therapy to deal with their road rage issues” Alice responded
“What’s on your mind Alice?” Bette enquired with genuine concern
“It’s Tina…I think she’s making a mistake” Alice said bluntly
“You know that I’m going to agree with you but what can I do? I put it all on the table and she has made her choice. I have to accept that and move on.”
“But to Paris. Bette, that’s a bit extreme don’t you think?”
“Job offers like this don’t grow on trees Alice, I’d be mad to turn it down. If Tina isn’t coming back then it won’t do me any good to sit around waiting for nothing”
“But what if Tina was letting you go because she thought it’s what you wanted?”
“But that’s stupid” Bette’s voice rose in anger “She damn well knows what I want”
“She thinks that you’re trying to reconcile with her out of guilt. She’s got it in her head that you aren’t in love with her anymore and that’s why she’s letting you go to Paris”
“What?!” Bette was completely exasperated now “This is insane, she’s insane. I don’t see how I could make what I want any clearer to her. What the ***** is she thinking? We’re both going through ***** and she has the capacity to end it but she doesn’t? Alice are you sure about this?”
“Yes”
“No Al, I mean are you really sure about what you’re telling me?”
“Yes!” Alice reiterated
Bette’s mind raced as she struggled to make sense of this new information. The first boarding announcement for Bette’s flight came over the PA.
“They’re calling my flight, I’ve got to go”
“What are you going to do?”
“How the ***** should I know?” Bette snapped and then calmed herself before continuing “I’ll sort it out next week when I get back. Thanks for letting me know.”
“Have a good flight Bette”
“Thanks. Take care of Tina for me OK?” Bette replied
“You know I will. See ya”
Bette hit the end button on her phone and then dialed Tina’s cell number. The call went straight to voicemail.

MY first reaction – “NOooooooooo”. After a shower; Ok, Bette didn’t stay on the plane. She is on her way to Tina’s because Tina’s “gift” is wrong. Bette wants Tina. That’s my hope. Please rescue this poor soul! Be nice to Bette and Tina.
