Chapter 38
Bette was in her office just working through some emails and collecting a couple of files so she could do some work while they were relaxing at home. She was very glad that her food poisoning had finally stopped affecting both her and Angelica – it had drained both of them. Angie was now eating like a small horse and Bette was not that far behind her. Tina had taken Angie to a brunch held by one of her pre-school chums which meant that Bette had been allowed by both her women to take a couple of hours and pop into the office.
She was sitting ploughing her way through her snail mail when the door opened
“Phyllis – I thought you were on leave “
“I am on the same leave as you Bette “
“Point taken – I popped in to clear some of the junk and take some work home – what is your excuse ?”
“I am a control freak who cannot leave the office alone for more than 2 days “
“Are you quoting someone ?”
“Joyce “
Bette smiled – it was good that Phyllis seemed to have settled with Joyce -they were a great couple and despite her reputation – Joyce had a heart of gold.
“Is that a case of pot and kettles ?”
“No – when she is away from the office she does not talk shop. “
“Unlike you ?”
“Unlike me – I need to learn to leave my work behind – what about you – do you have a pass from Tina and Angelica ?”
“I do have their permission – anyway it’s a two way thing -Tina has been in the studio a couple of time since she got back. And if we take turns the other one can take care of Angie “
Phyllis sat down
“I didn’t think that the two of you would look as right together as you look “
Bette looked at another pile of papers and slotted them into the shredder. She switched to her emails and found the email that Jane had sent her and her reply – she hit the print button – she wanted Phyllis to see that she was not looking to leave UCLA.

AllyE, That was so sweet and tender. Bette and Phyllis were upfront about the situation and have sorted things out. jane could be a problem but I feel that Bette and Phyllis united will be a difficult team to defeat. Then Helena with Tina and Ang was a roit. Just lovely to share these moments. So precious and sweet. Good to have Ang giggling at her silly Aunt H. The Bette arrival showed how far Bette and Helena have moved on. They respect and admire each other. COmpletely accepting their places in t Tina’s and Angies’s lives. Then the quiet time for Bette and Tina to share some of their daily thoughts and magical moments. Mini-B is just so true. Love that the gals see the best of each other in Angie. Just wonderful to read and bask in. More please and thank you so much for returning and continuing this awesome adventure. Good things do happen to good people. Your Loyal Fan.
