It seems that Jennifer has been extremely busy this summer with work but she was still able to find time to play and spend time with her family. She started to learn playing the piano but she admitted that she’s not “particularly accomplished in any way, shape or form.” Her major accomplishment this summer was “longer distance open water swimming across different Canadian lakes.” Her favorite lake was Lake Louise. It was cold “but it was so beautiful to be surrounded by that color, and to turn to look up at the glaciers. It just knocked me out but I had to grease my face, my hands and my feet and I had a full wetsuit and neoprene cap and everything else to keep mama warm because it was really cold.”
Jennifer also admitted that she now loves swimming even more than running. “Swimming is much stronger than my running … all I want to do is go swim.” She was even doing an open water race, though she doesn’t think about it as a race. “If I finish and I’m alive that deserved a finishing medal … I’m not Michael Phelps.” Michael Phelps she’s not but she is an Olympic junkie. “I’m camping and I’m going, ‘Oh my God, the Internet doesn’t work, how can I watch my swimming?’”

However, the swimming doesn’t stop her from training for Half Ironman and Jennifer still hopes to run a marathon before she turns 50. So far she had volunteered at one in Vancouver, handing out water and Gatorade because she knew what it meant to the runners.
One other thing that I was really curious about was the subject of Jennifer getting her account on Twitter. A few years ago in our interview she said that she would never get on Twitter. “Maybe one day, maybe when I’m 70 I’ll be twittering from my porch at my ranch, you know, with my friends from ‘The L Word’.” So I asked what happened to make her change her mind.
“I had enough of my friends saying, ‘Get with the program’. When I worked with Nathan Fillion … I love his presence on-line, on Twitter. I think he uses it really well. It’s a way to communicate ideas without again having to ask for permission, like not having to wait for somebody to organize a conference call with 20 people. You can talk about things that interests you, or amuse you, or perhaps irritate you, however you want to use it. So I thought, ‘Okay, I’ll try it and I’ll see how long I can sustain it.’ I don’t know that I’ll be on forever but I’ve had enough of my friends cajole me so I thought I’d give it a try.”
At the end of the conference Jennifer thanked everyone as she said, “Thank you all so much for your interest because I know it is not the traditional media I’m in and I do appreciate your interest.”
Jennifer’s fans continue to show their loyalty and will follow her career in any media form she chooses.
